Micronesian basketball tournaments are the best! This past weekend, KooldipTv, partnered up with @SousedProductions and @MCDmultimedia to show the world why Micronesian tournaments are so lit!
From the intros to the play by play, Micronesian tournaments have everything. Dances with the crowd, the beautiful singing Kosraean ladies, the energetic Pohnpeian ladies dancing, awkward moments of Sole Uce - Samoan fob, emcee Kooldip, Indian MC, and J2, a Chuukese host, DJ Rudedogg on the ones and twos, cold spark fountains, etc…
Need I say more? What I love most about Micronesian Basketball tournaments is the camaraderie of the Micronesian community in Hawaii and everywhere! When one person asks the village to help, everyone comes together and makes these things happen. I don’t see things like this ever in Hawaii and I am so proud to be a part of it!
The Micronesian teams included states from Kosrae, Chuuk, the Marshall Islands, and Pohnpei! This was the first ever Jungle Ballers Tournament (18 and under) and it was so fun! I absolutely enjoyed watching these tournaments because it reminds me of the grit of 80s ball!
David Taulung, an All star Kosraean basketball player growing up, had a vision where he wanted to show the youth that they were capable of so much more in life. In fact, why basketball is life! He managed to get his high school, Kaimuki High School and staff, to participate in such a good cause by bringing out the youth and showing them something to look forward to!
Kudos to this young man, the staff, and the entire Micronesian community who came out of the woodworks to support! I probably could go on and on but I want emphasize that this video was shot by Soused Productions, MCD Multimedia (thank you Will Malina), and KooldipTv (Kim Archer skills).
The entire editing work was done by an up and coming video editor! A native Pohnpeian, Calvin Apis, and his team @Soused Productions did such an amazing job with this and words can’t express how grateful we are of him and his team! Can’t wait to collaborate more with this skilled company!
Please follow, subscribe, and like Soused Productions for more amazing videos! He was given only 3 days to do this and he delivered! The crazy part, he still has another job and serves as a lifeguard in Hawaii! Did I mention he’s a hustler?!!!! Lol… IT is my hope he quits his full-time and moves into this because he is too good and too talented to be doing anything else! This is his calling!
Stay tuned for the documentary that will be coming soon with an in-depth analysis of what went down on June 24, 25, and 26!
