This was well done. When I first started learning about LSAs it was so dry and boring I thought I'd die from the dullness. This video clearly explained what LSAs are and did it in a short time, a mark of a good teacher.

Jeremy I love all your videos. Keep up the good work. You rock. If I may be allowed to add a few lines to your masterful and fun method of teaching. LSA & Area Types Relationship: Stub = Block 4 & 5 LSA NSSA = Blocks type 5 LSA originated from backbone area but allow type 7 originated from within the NSSA (nonbackbone area ASBR). Totally Stub = Totally (block3LSA) + Stub (block 4&5 LSA) Totally NSSA = Totally (block 3LSA) + NSSA (block 4&5 LSA but allow type 7) + Stub (block4&5 LSA) "Totally" means Block 3 LSA (Cisco proprietary configured only on ABR) in addition to whatever LSA's are being blocked by the word following "Totally". e.g. Totally stub: Block 3 LSA in addition to the ones already blocked by the word "Stub" which are 4 &5 "Totally" Is not on itself an area type.

Super awesome video. Thanks for all you and the team at CBT Nuggets do. I hope to take my CCENT2 exam within the month. I have been beating my head over an OSPF question for a while now, and am hoping you, or any viewer, can offer some clarification. Assume R2 is the ABR between area 0 and area 10. Router 5 is the neighboring router in area 10, and is the gateway to a range of subnets, from 10.1.0.0/19 to 10.1.54.0/24, that need to be summarized. Instead of configuring the "area 10 range 10.1.0.0 255.255.192.0" command on R2, why can't I just summarize the networks using the "R5(config-router)# network 10.1.0.0 0.0.63.255 area 10" command to advertise the summary? I have actually done it successfully in GNS3. I'm sure there is a reason; I just can't figure out what it is. Thanks a ton in advance! :0)
