Please note folks that Microsoft is constantly updating the exams. They have now added "Microsoft Viva" into Microsoft MS-900 exam so you can expect a few questions about that too. To help address this, I have made small extra "add-on" video specifically on the topic of "Microsoft Viva". After finishing all your compTIA A+ videos (and getting the cert, mind you), I started on AWS Cloud Practitioner and found myself feeling overwhelmed with all the new information and in need of a break. AZ-900 sounds similar in how much new information will be coming at me, so I decided on MS-900 which should be easy enough. When I noticed you had a video about it, I immediately decided that this will be my "break cert" before I tackle the more difficult stuff again. 🙂

@@GoGators1014 Never a good idea to tackle a test with only one source, but MS-900 is the first cert I'm tackling without using a book on the side. I've got my exam scheduled for next Tuesday, though I also decided to go for AZ-900 on the same day.

@@GoGators1014 I passed both MS-900 and AZ-900 last week. MS-900 was, very surprisingly, much more difficult than AZ-900. AZ-900 was actually very easy because it repeats a lot of the cloud computing concepts that A+ covers, it just adds an additional layer of "Azure" over it. MS-900 sounds simple because yes it is a lot of knowing what Microsoft service is used for what purpose, but it also expects you to know what additional features a service can offer. Think about Copilot, integration with other services or if the service needs to pull their data from another service, where does it take that data. AZ-900 had a lot more straight forward questions like knowing when something is IaaS, PaaS or SaaS, or knowing when something is a hybric, public or private cloud. Study resources MS-900 were MS Learn, BurningIceTech, John Savill and a lot of Googling. Study resources for AZ-900 were the same except with the official book as well. I do not recommend other practice exams besides the one on MS Learn because no practice exam can prepare you for the actual exam, even the MS Learn ones are nowhere near similar.

Thank you so much for uploading this video! I am only about halfway through but I had a quick question. You emphasize that Microsoft 365 can only be installed on 5 devices for some of the subscriptions that include the desktop apps. I was taking the practice test through Microsoft and was really throw off by an answer that ended up being that you could install it on 15 devices total! 5 PCs, 5 tablets and 5 mobiles was the explanation. Do you think the practice test is not up to date? Thank you!

Regarding the 5 devices limit, either their question is flawed or it was referring to the old Microsoft Office. The Office your able to download and install which you get with Microsoft 365 is called "Microsoft Office ProPlus" and that can only be installed on up to a maximum of 5 devices. Doesn't matter what the devices are, the limit is still 5. If the user would like to for example install Office ProPlus onto a 6th device, the user will have to go deactivate Office ProPlus first on one of the previous 5 devices. Once the ProPlus gets deactivated on a device, most of of because useless. You can only use it then to Open and View a Document and to Print Documents, other then that it will be rendered useless. Now as for the "15 device" limit you mentioned. The OLD previous Microsoft Office has that limit. That's the old Office people used to go buy in stores which only gave you Word, Excel ect. That's not the cloud version of Office. The MS-900 course does not cover the old Microsoft Office since it's completely unrelated to the course so I'd say that is a flawed question/answer on the test you were taking. In the MS-900 exam you will only be asked about "ProPlus Office" which is the version you get in the cloud with Microsoft 365 and the ProPlus version has a limit of 5 devices, that I assure you :) If you have any other questions or doubts, feel free to ask away

@@BurningIceTech Microsoft 365 now uses named user licensing which counts sign-ins instead of install devices. So you're limited to being signed into Office on 5 devices at one time.

Awesome stuff! Not sure how much experience you have but in case you don't have a lot of experience yet, please be careful on your company 365 portal. Rather have someone show where what is and how what works the first time you do some things, unless of course you already have some experience with 365, then you can just ignore what I said :) Just don't want you accidentally making a booboo on your company portal haha. Rather make a Trial on 365 and go practice there where it's safe :) That's if your still new, otherwise like I said earlier, ignore what I said :)

Thank you for making this video, it has been extremely helpful. One thing I would ask... Please, when stating the importance of the numbers and the importance of a specific number, spell it out. I spent 30 minutes rewinding trying to figure out if you were saying "30" or "50"... I still think you said both. If it's 30, just take an extra second to say "3" "0" or for fifty "5" "0". I would hate to get it wrong on the exam. Thank you again for creating this!!!

​@@BurningIceTech I took a practice exam and came across quite a few questions that were not covered in this video, the practice exam was from Microsoft. After taking a practice exam I noticed that Microsoft is now covering "Add-On USL". What does this mean for licensing?

@@MrMcprodigy The USL they speak of does indeed have to do with licensing but it's all about what a company currently has in their respective environment. You actually get different kinds of USL's but the "Add-On USL" you mentioned more or less for customers who still have their stuff on-premises old school and who want to "try" some of the cloud stuff out. It allows them to basically kinda keep their on-prem stuff the same for time being and allows them to try out some of the cloud perks that comes with Office 365. In a weird way it's kind of a marketing tactic from Microsoft I think to give companies a taste of 365 cloud to get them to buy full licenses. It's not questions that I've seen in the actual real exam though. I suppose you never know with those folks at Microsoft, they like changing stuff at any point without informing anyone. Majority of companies are on 365 these days so very few will still benefit from this "Add-On USL" so it is actually old news at this point in time and not worth mentioning :)

The Microsoft 365 Family unfortunately doesn't have most of the functions, features and benefits that is talked about in the course. For normal everyday personal use it should be fine depending on what you want to do but if you want to try some of the stuff out that is talked about on the course then you will need an Enterprise license, preferably the Enterprise E5. Some of the stuff talked about on the course isn't even available on the Enterprise E3 just to give you an idea

Best of luck with your exam! It's still up to date yes with the exception of "Microsoft Viva". Everything else in the video course is still up to date. Microsoft added a question or two in the exam about Microsoft Viva. I've already started making a video about the "Microsoft Viva" as an add-on to this video. It should go live in a day or two. I'm going to add it to the same playlist for you guys so if anyone finished watching the full MS-900 course video, they can just watch the shorter video afterwards which focuses specifically on just Microsoft Viva. That should fill in the gap and help you guys with the exam :)

Yeah it's a constant battle with those folks at Microsoft. They do sadly reserve the right to change their exams anytime they want in any way they want and they take full advantage of that from time to time. I think what I can do from side to help with changes that will constantly take place in the exam, I can make small supplement videos and add it to respective course playlists as "extra's" to cover specifically newer topics that have been added like the "Viva". I'll start by making a lesson specifically on "Viva" and I'll add it for you guys in this "MS-900" playlist once it's done. If more new topics get added to the exam over time which will probably always happen, I'll just keep making small lessons to cover those extra new topics. Hope this helps. Just keep an eye on this playlist. If remember, I'll try to comment here again once that video goes live so that you at least know in case you missed it

Hi ...I've used the links below for the free trail where the instructor says they won't ask for payment details so I've followed the link for the E5 licence ( the second link below) but it's asking for payment details, does anyone know if there is something else I'm supposed to do so that I don't have to give payment details ? Thanks

Hi, you'll see in some of the other comments I mentioned that it looks like those links no longer work the way they used to. It seems those folks at Microsoft changed them now for some reason. They have been changing a lot of things like this in the last few months and it's been a real headache to say the least. It seems the only way to get a trial now is to provide payment details. It's safe but if you do decide to go through with it, I would recommend setting a reminder for yourself on your phone or calendar to cancel the trial after 30 days. Maybe cancel it around the 28-29 day mark to be safe. The biggest issue with the trial is, it just automatically starts billing you after 30 days. It does not temporary pause or suspend the thing to give you a choice on whether you want to proceed or not. If you can somehow remind yourself to cancel the thing before the 30 day mark then you'll be fine. It's just really a huge inconvenience the whole thing which is why I loved those to links I provided when they still worked

They added Microsoft Viva in the exam and for that I made a extra dedicated video which was added in the playlist for this course :) I will make more small extra videos in this playlist as the exam changes but for now this video and the extra viva video is enough

@@MrGinz4uuu Well it's going to depend on what your current level of experience is and also what work you plan on doing. There are many vendors when it comes to IT courses and each of them has many courses so it's hard to suggest a course to someone without knowing their unique situation :) In general people who are new to IT normally start with something like CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ to help them form a foundation in IT. Once they did that they would normally focus on something more specific in IT depending on what they will be working with. This Microsoft MS-900 is a great foundation course in Microsoft when it comes to cloud but depending someone's current IT knowledge in Microsoft they might have to first learn more about computers and servers in general
