I was very impressed with this video. The narrator has the gift of explaining complicated information in an understandable way. He also provides some practical "hard won" advice and cautions i.e., get the structure of the database correct from the beginning. Well done. Thank you!

Helpful video, thank you... I have a question - in migrating data from MS Outlook, via CSV data import, into Access, and one of my contact record fields, the "Categories" field, includes multiple data elements separated by semi-colons. Example, a record may have 5, 10, 50 categories (separated by semi-colons)... so, wondering (1) how to properly import this information into an Access table properly, and (2) what the form will look like for entering new "Categories" into Access once it is up and running.... Thank you for any insights.... AG

Question for you. I’m not familiar with Access, but I think I might be able to use it to make work easier. I have a large list of employees at the company I work for who routinely need paperwork filled out and submitted for events. Is it possible for me to build a database, select the names of the members attending the event and then have a macro transfer the information needed into each document? My concern is the docs I’m looking to have auto populated are word and pdf files. Is this possible? If so, do you have a video giving a walkthrough of how to create something like this?
@joukenienhuis6888
@joukenienhuis6888 Жыл бұрын
Hi Decan, I don't know if yu have found your solution yet, but for a large list of employees to keep track of Microsoft Access is ideal. But when you start making a database, be sure to have a good design of your database. Preparation is most of the work and makes later corrections and adaptations less possible to occur. Try to make a clear definition of what you want to do with your database. Then try to find every form you want to use to get information for your database. Then try to identify the fields people have to fill in and use that information to make your tables. If you have made your database and filled it with all the information you need, then try to make a macro that loads a Word template with defined fields. The macro will fill in the defined fields with the information from your database. And dont forget to make a selection query first to use the correct information.

This should be simple, but I'm not sure where to begin. What I want to do is to list all the rooms in my apartment, and all the places in each room where I can store items, enter an item I want to know the location of, and it will tell me where that item is. Is Access a good way to handle this?

Why does every access tutorial deal with a business customer data base> doesn't anyone know that access is so much more. I used to use one that was exclusively for books, authors, Isbn's titles and so on. Its been a long time and I've never set up one before. So why oh Why???
@KaceliTechTraining
@KaceliTechTraining 5 ай бұрын
Good point @arrianranger5800. It can be easily used for books, personal item inventory, music collections as in the old days etc. The business examples are to align it with what most small businesses use it for.
