I see the wow sub being incorporated into gamepass pc/ultimate but only for classic wow, retail would have required an expansion purchase.

Another possibility is you pay an extra sub on top of games pass for a bonus pack of mounts/mogs /pets/gold ect like in games like eso and starwars old republic.

My guess is that they’ll probably do as you say, but allow access to the current expansion when 11.2 or 11.3 releases. This way people can experience the fated raids, get hooked and then purchase the newer expansions

The fact of what they would have to do to overhaul the interface in wow just to be able to play on Xbox I just don’t see it Mabye they will have some version of it some day but not to full scale there is just too many buttons and tabs and ect ect ect to be on console lol

I see wow normal classic and retail up to lvl 20 (or maybe 60) on the gamepass with the latest expansion requiring an expansion purchase with money - not gold - and maybe even the special "classic" games like discovery requiring an added purchase or subscription. If everything is on 'gamepass' then WoW is likely to suffer from understaffing again, something they stated recently was not going to happen (things change). If they require a new battlenet account for gamepass I will not be interested in loosing toons and collections acquired since vanilla. It would explain why the development team is now addressing the many issues encountered while leveling through former expansions, adding dragon riding, follower dungeons, etc. Battlepass would give a taste of WoW and only if people had a good experience would they even consider buying the expansion which would be their true revenue. The number of people playing WoW on battlepass would also influence how much income Microsoft provides WoW with. Battlepass might be a good option for those already playing other games OR a 2nd account, especially if it can be linked to your existing battlenet. I can see new stricter measures against gold sellers and hackers as they would infringe into WoW's income as well. Good move overall... could drive the sub up in price so they match, and abolish the 6 and 12 months sub rewards.

Tbh not a big fan of this decision, haven't been paying for gametime with real money for like 2 years now on all of my accounts and don't want to do it now even with the bonus of all the games from gamepass. Hope token will still exist after all of current changes.

hehe yeah same i like to farm golds n stuff and i didnt pay for expansions from legion, and my subscribtion is for next 5 years wich i made all in wotlk classic :D interested how they will do this

Life is too short to play bad games. As a kid Blizzard was a good company WC&SC era. After WoW blew up they lost their way. I don't play anything Blizzard anymore. Blizzard games feel cash driven with a very toxic and unhealthy playerbase.

So, with the WoW subscription being replaced with an Xbox GamePass subscription does that mean the end of the WoW token? Will you no longer be able to trade in-game gold for a WoW token to use for game time?

I think personally that the gold tokens, mounts and pets would remain a battlenet only service.

If they move WoW into the Gamepass realm and force me to pay a fee ..... I don't say this lightly because I've been playing WoW Since 2005.. I will quit WoW. There is no reason for me to pay $15 a month for a service i don't need when all I want is to play 1 game. They need to keep WoW Seperate!!! Unless I can pay for a Gamepass Sub with the WoWtoken.. Currently I play for free being forced to pay for GamePass is complete BS.

If wow is on GamePass, then tokens will be useless and removed, right? What would be the point of a token if you have to pay the GamePass sub?

I wish you guys would stop wasting your time making these videos.. WoW is not going to be on Gamepass. Ever. End of story. And you don't even need to look far to know that. ESO is the poster child for this logic. MS owns Bethesda. Try to find ESO on gamepass. Just proof that not all their games are or will be on the platform. And WoW is no different. We will however see games like D2 through 4 and beyond. Probably OW and SC and any new IP that Activision/Blizz come out with.
