The biggest problem I have with Excel is remembering the correct functions for which equations, and how to type them in correctly. I completely blank with anything that has to do with math, and then the panic sets it. I am an English student and can write essays in my sleep, but math/functions/equations? no thanks. Thanks for this video Prof, your calmness makes me believe that I actually am learning and not to overthink the questions. (:

That’s a great point! You totally just made me realize a trick you can use if your mind goes blank because of test anxiety and functions like mine does….I’ll show this in the next one, but you can type in a description of the function in Excel and look up what function to use. It’s not cheating just smart!

One of my biggest problems with Excel has to be remembering all the functions. There are so many, and I get confused with what one to use. When doing the MOS exam, I already get so anxious and I overthink everything. This was a wonderful video to remind me of what to use and why. I like how you phrase the questions in the language that could potentially be used in the exam. From past experience, they do word things differently and I find this very helpful.

Getting ready to take the expert in two weeks too and like several have mentioned, functions can be tricky and confusing.

I definitely think the hardest thing about Excel is staying up to date with the formulas! I would have never known that you can just add UPPER and it would make everything uppercase. I feel a little nervous going into the exam not being clear on the functions but now that I've heard there is a cheat sheet ;p it'll definitely come in handy! haha.
@tatyanaros94502 жыл бұрын
The most difficult part for me was the entering formulas. If function is confusing, especially what information to insert in fields to get the correct formula at the end. Also I found challenging for me putting the brackets inside the formula. In your video there were tasks where you used formula without brackets and with brackets. Thank you for your detailed explanations!

Hey!!! I took my Excel Associates exam and got a 831/1000!!! I kid you not!!! The Sports task was the exact same one as on my exam. What was hard for me was the IF function on the exam because I forgot to put the " " around the words like: "Books Sold" > 10,000. I was so nervous and also the proctor kinda shook me up before the test so I feel like it might've made me more nervous. Causing me to forget.

I struggle most with the CONCAT formula. I find most functions are straightforward because the name of the function coordinates with what it does. But, I have never heard the word concat in my life, and I am constantly forgetting what it does! I also tend to forget how to use two functions simultaneously, like you did when making something uppercase and also using the left 3 function. but practice makes perfect! Thank you for the comp[rehensive video!

This was a staggering strategy for restoring myself with the circumstances in general and potential endeavors that we may get on the Excel Exam. I figure the most irksome part for me would be the need to review which equation goes with what. I acknowledge that holding the equations is the hardest part since you should zero in on the part that what has been asked in the inquiry. In the event that is most troublesome capacity for me as its requirements practice. Disregarding the way that I have started to work and practice the recipes regular, and simultaneously there are a couple of them that I need to manage. With the assistance of these sort of recordings, I am certain that I will actually want to dominate every one of the troublesome recipes too

This was an incredible method for reviving myself with all of the situations and potential undertakings that we might get on the Excel Exam. I figure the most troublesome part for me would be the need to recall which formula goes with what. In spite of the fact that I have begun to work and practice the formulas everyday, yet at the same time there are a few of them that I want to deal with. Only problem I face when using excel is putting correct formulas and values. Of ten when I enter the formulas and values in the cell it displays error message. I have to make several tries to get it right. But once it is correct it is all perfect. The IF and Alphabet formatting functions like CONCAT, UPPER etc. were particularly new to me but I am slowly learning to use them. So excel is once again fun for me.

Excel can handle a large variety of tasks and functions. The most challenging part of Microsoft Excel is writing formulas, making charts, and conditional formatting to organize multiple data and carry out calculations. It is easy to learn how to sum a column or sort or filter a table but when you input the wrong data using the wrong tool it will give you a different result. But with Prof. Mike's tutorial videos, it helps me to understand better how Excel works and makes life easier.

The most challenging task for me was task 4 in the Check Your Worksheet chapter. It's actually not the task that's challenging but more of how the instruction is worded; "swap the data over the axis" doesn't sound anywhere near "switch row/column" and so I had a hard time trying to figure out what the task was asking me to do. But this video helped to clarify how tasks would possibly be worded on the exam, which I appreciate because the task might be written in a way that is difficult to understand but is actually just asking for a simple action.

The most difficult part for me in excel is using ' IF ' formula . I always confused about the exact formula in excel. Sometimes I always forget to put (=) sign between them. Then I start practicing about excel and the way you explained everything is awesome. Like in task 3 question 4, modify the formula to display the letter in upper case is so interesting, I always loved this one , whenever I make datasheets or etc. Through your videos its been so easy to use excel and the person who don't know anything about excel I would suggest to follow your instructions only. By using formulas , its been so easy to calculate several type of data.

Hi Prof Mike, This was a great way to refresh myself with all the equations and possible tasks that we may get on the Exel Exam. I think the most difficult task for me would be having to remember which formula goes with what. I believe that memorizing the formula is the hardest part because you must pay attention to the task details and what they are asking for. For example, in the task with the average bestseller, reading the task carefully was important so that the correct formula is used. What I had done as I was watching the video was taking notes of all the formulas and tasks that I need help with so that those are the tasks I focus on prior to the Excel exam. Thanks for such an amazing and detailed explanation video. It was very helpful.
