All right, it's the one everybody's been waiting for, it's Pivot Table time.
What is a pivot table? It is a way to take longer data like this, where there's lots going on, and break it down to usable chunks. I've created one, I just wanted to show you a bit of a demo.

Hello Sir, Nice video. I am new to pivot tables. My question to you is: What are the main areas in the Pivot Table Field dialog box below such as Columns, Rows, and Values I need to use majority of the time when I am creating a pivot table?

what happens if you need to add a new column of data in your raw datasheet? Will refresh pull in the new fields into your pivot table?

No it won’t. It is best to change the data into a table. Tables are really good because when you add data it will be captured by the table. All you need to do then is hit refresh button or ALT + F5 and the data for pivot table will be updated.

I have a question is someone can answer it for me.Im creating a 3 months travel expense report for my boss. I have it set up to where the top rows are frozen so that they don't disappear while I'm scrolling up and down. Then I have columns that are filtered. Now my question is how do I get my grand total to show when I filter my information?for instance when all I want to see is my lodging. I see the totals for each day but the grand total for the entire month.

Best is to highlight your filtered data then copy into another tab on your Workbook to have the total of just that column. Or use a Pivot Table as instructed above :-)
