Hello to everyone and hope you're all doing well.
I would say this is a 'quick video' but in actual fact it's one of my longest! This is the first of a new 'uncut' format, designed to show a complete approach into an airport without any interruptions or camera changes (at least until after the landing!). I find watching real life approaches like this very relaxing, and hope this might have a similar appeal.
You join us on board BA31, a Boeing 777-300ER, from London Heathrow to Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok. We're in the descent at 21000ft, over the south coast of Macau, and about to start the SIERA6B arrival to Hong Kong's runway 25L. Our route takes us out into the South China Sea, where we see Macau Intl Airport pass by beneath us. Shortly afterwards ATC give us vectors direct to waypoint 'GOODY' which takes us eastbound and flying towards Hong Kong itself. We'll be descending down to 7000ft before turning back inland over Sai Kung East Country Park, and then left again to intercept the ILS for 25L. During the final stage of the approach, we get stunning views of the city and bay areas below, as well as the old Kai Tak airport and Kowloon Bay.
As always I hope you enjoy the video, and if you do please comment, like and subscribe!
