Azure has the capacity to handle large volumes of traffic, some players have expressed concern about potential stability issues, such as those seen in other massively multiplayer online games. If the servers cannot handle peak users, there could be temporary outages or interruptions. According to microsoft the key approach to mitigating this will be the use of local caching to reduce the amount of data that needs to be transmitted in real time, which will help maintain performance if there are network problems.

Is genuine FLIGHT simulation about FLYING accurately modeled aircraft or about the beauty of ground scenery?

I always thought MSFS2020 was almost just a technology demonstration. They polished it and added some stuff to make it a viable flight sim but it was really more about discovering if the tech will work and people will buy it. It was a resounding yes. So now Microsoft has opened the checkbook to allow them to make the simulation they really want to make. I agree that 2024 will really just be an iteration on 2020. I'm not sure there's new ground to break anymore. Maybe global fluid dynamic simulation. That would be mindblowing.

2024 is going to push the tech even farther. It's a great place to test the latest cloud computing.

For me, its important to see more improved features “within” the sim. Meaning, it would be nice to minimize running so many additional programs for weather, traffic, ground services etc. It would be ideal to have most of these within the sim
