I'm very happy that someone finally created this airplane. C-46 is a fair bit heavier than a DC-3 and can haul more cargo. It was bigger than the B-17 or B-24 and could haul more cargo than a DC-3. A bit like the C-130 of WW2. Not to mention it has played a big part in Ice Pilots and is still flying all over the world.

Awesome! I certainly enjoy the details they've put into this + it's fun to fly! Hope you enjoy flying it around in the virtual skies!

Planes designed during golden age are, without exception, beautiful and really nice to see when flying.

They certainly are! 🙂

I'm feeling like an outlier in the MSFS community because I'm loving the vintage taildragger kick devs have been on. Seems there's a constant flow of airliners, which aren't really my thing... Though I would dig the 707 after logging many hours around their KC 135 sibling IRL.
@CowTown5 ай бұрын
And I'm glad you enjoy them! Lol some are taking what I said too personally. I don't buy any airliners, I just have the stock ones that came with the sim as I'm not that interested in airliners, but I enjoy the 707 so I'm looking forward to it. But next time they move around planes releases I'm not even going to bother mentioning it 😂

@@CowTown no worries, it was more a general statement on my part. A quick scroll through KZbin or Twitch just makes it seem as if there are a ton of airliner options while the bush/vintage fans are more on the fringe. Part of that being airliners aren't my niche, so they all seem the same to me... Just how someone not into bush/vintage would view a lot of those as practically being the same. Beautiful thing about the sim and the Dev community is there are endless niches you can find yourself involved in... And I'm not gonna yuck someone's yum just because it's not my thing. That said, 2024 is looking like it'll be a win across the board. Tons of things for the airliner community, bush folks and beyond.

It is "local legend" and for 10 bucks it's a steal! A great piece of work, and considering that the Hump is one of the greatest operations one could fly in MSFS (excepting only the lack of period scenery - ie, all modern and no way to go back to what the world looked like in 1942) this is a timely addition. The C-47 could not handle the Hump effectively, so we need this to be able to duplicate the missions of so long ago that were so critical to the Pacific war effort! Like you, I would jump at any 707, having flown them in the early portion of my career, and I look forward to one appearing for MSFS (although I heard nothing about any such development, despite having attended Flight Sim Expo virtually. There was mention of a 707 coming for XPlane 12, and a 727 for MSFS, but I heard nothing beyond that..... One can only hope!

One of the CIA's secret war in Laos work horses operated by "Air America" during the conflict in SEA. Primary missions include transporting supplies, people and troops through out the remote mountain of the country. I'd like to see an Air America livery on her.

Lots of simmers like the legend series....not everyone is a Big jet type! Hope YOUR 707 comes soon for you!

Not saying I don't like the Local Legends haha I enjoy them very much as I've purchased them all at this point! Just felt odd to have similar aircraft back to back is all! 🙂 But hope you enjoy the C-46, it's a blast to fly around in!

Finally, a C-46! This plane alone was the backbone of "Flying the Hump", I.E. supplying troops in China, flying from India and over the Himalaya in the worst possible weather conditions, day in, day out, most often than not overloaded. It's been a way too overloocked WW2 plane. I just hope now someone will mod it like the default DC-3 or Beach 18 😀.

So many old warbirds carry GPS nowadays irl, why not have GPS for them on the sim?
@Danko055 ай бұрын
@@thesn00tyfox I misunderstood the comment, actually I think the same, I want them with the option of GPS and modern avionics, and autopilot too.
@anthonyvallillo4225 ай бұрын
These things weren't flown with GPS in the day, although Buffalo does have it in theirs. Dead reckoning and maybe some 4 course ranges were the way to go in the Hump operation.
