@@mbta1051 Stan LePard - Encarta Virtual Globe 1998 Virtual Flights, North America. Composer composed the original music, that was used in the Windows XP installer. He regrettably passed away not long ago. As for the other Windows XP (Tour) musics, those were composed by Bill Brown.

When my father bought our first pc in fall 2001, Encarta 2001 was included in the package, with virtual flights. This music, and the others, remember me Christmas 2001

There are many versions of this song; the original was by Stan LePard and used on Windows 98. I believe the later versions may have been remixed by Brian eno

I was searching for this ... damn this was a good childhood .... also I have a question given that I can't find it ... was there an encarta or encarta like software but with biology ... I remember having something like that also the main menu was very green and light brown (leafs, wood and other stuff) I think it was published between 1995-2005

thanks for some time I thought as well it was premium 2008 ... but no I was 18 by that time and I think I had the software when I was 10 or something (also the leafs were a little bit more cartoon...ish)

Do you have original file with this song? In sound cloud Stan LePard is similar version, but this soundcloud version is a bit different from this one. What format was this music delivered in. Were they wavs or some other files?

Yes. The files are on the installation folder but are separated wav files. The software is programmed to mix them together during the virtual flight feature. I don't have access on this software anymore but i think you might buy it o e-bay. It works only in windows xp.
