Hey, pretty good points you made there. I am planning to buy the i7, 256 gb version. I need it for art, graphic design and 3D rendering ability. Also a good media experience. Would thermal throttling be an issue? Should I go for i5 version? Also, few reviews point out Calibration issues which you seem to have missed. How big a problem is that?

Very informative video :) The wireless/Bluetooth issues could perhaps be a driver issue? Also the attachable keyboard could be solved with a driver update

I have noticed my sp3 bends slighty at the top as it becomes hot, when it cools down and let it lay flat for a while it bends back again. Did you have the same issue or should I be worried? BTW great video, I have the same opinions as you about this device!!

I've also had the wifi dropping issue, and you're correct - a quick disable/enable fixes it. I'm sure MSFT is on it.

The same wifi issues, I've experienced with the Surface Pro 3, I've also did with the Surface Pro 1. I believe it's more of a windows 8 problem IMHO. As far as bluetooth I haven't had any issues at all. Issues with the type cover have only been with the pointer freezing or disappearing sometimes, once again I also had these issues on the surface pro 1.

My Surface Pro 3 is new and even during set up, the screen has flashing between applications, so fast that I had to restart. it has done it yet again. any thoughts or fixes for this?

I do agree that I wish the battery life was a little better but I don't think I would want them to make the sp3 heavier or thicker though .I definitely have had the WiFi issue before I just have to cut WiFi off and back on and its back to normal.

This looks perfect for me right now. I'm a student, so note taking and netflix are my main priorities, along with some light gaming. But before investing in one of these, are there any other decent laptop hybrids i should be aware of? Many thanks - A soon to be broke student :)

I think you should wait for sometime if you have money issue. However there is lenovo yoga 3 and that happens to be just like surface pro 3 except that it doesn't have an inbuilt stylus. In my point of view, surface is quite expensive and top of that it has so many issues . But again that's in my opinion only

Have they addressed the fact that the keyboards do not communicate with the tablet about the language of the keyboard. I think that if you attach a keyboard in a different language, the software should automatically know this and change accordingly.

wifi in the pro surface 1 gets me too. and since they dindt fix it yet i doubt they will in the pro 3. still i would not trade mine for any other type, unless for the pro 3 as upgrade. great product. what about the calibration? people are saying the dark ruins the media, black turns purple if you watch in low areas. do you relate to that?

What do you say about flashes or flickering. I shut it off when I come back and turn on the power it flashes.. first it was 1 flash now it is 4 flashes b4 I start putting in my password on the locked screen.. help please

I get phantom touches to the point where I had to turn off my touch screen ability. I'm going to backup my things and probably just restore everything to factory to see if that does the trick.

Microsoft usually releases an update within the first 2 months that will fix any bugs the the first users notice

The throttling appears during sustained periods of intense use. It will affect benchmarks, it will affect games, and heavy 3D stuff or video editing for example. For more casual use it is a non issue, because something like web browsing only has short bursts of serious activity.

Once the CPU hits abotu 60~70c the CPU is Throttled back to help with the cooling. If your CPU doesn't hit 60c you don't have to worry. If you do have issues with throttling get a laptop cooling pad and attach suction cups or an adhesive to it and put it on the back of the surface.

i love my surface 2 but the bugs are annoying, i take it to school and i have it set up to automatically connect to the wifi but it takes like 10 minutes or even more to connect and sometimes i have to connect it manually.

I5 gets hot Pen accuracy for drawing is sometimes iffy Windows software does not maintain connection with network drives nor some high capacity SD cards Auto keyboard launch for form fill in desktop mode does not happen.

If you bought core i5 model then hardware wise it's almost identical to surface pro 2, I reckon it'd be hotter due to the fact that SP3 is a lot slimmer than SP2

you mentioned Wacom is better than ntrig for artist.. i am an artist and was looking to get this vs the Surface pro 2.. could you please do another video comparing the two pen tech using a serious drawing software like Autodesk Skebookpro available for 30day free demo..

I'd go to a Microsoft store and find out for yourself, because many state that Wacom is better, but in the end I would say that it's highly opinionated. The pro 3 has the lower amounts of sensitivity and requires batteries, however it is more accurate and feels higher quality. The one note button is nice, but honestly I prefer the eraser that the Wacom offers. The Wacom however is only a one button pen (not counting the eraser) which may limit your ability to navigate. The pro 3 pen does a better job in replacing a mouse. Don't forget that many have complained about the much smaller screen on the pro 2.

Ironic how Microsoft are having so many software issues with their first 'proper' venture into hardware. They should take a page out of Google's books and keep rolling out consistent updates. Like with Google's Nexus line, Maps and even KZbin.

Alongside of my kindle fire hdx I'm looking to buy another tablet, or trade my kindle fire hdx for another tablet. I was thinking about getting the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5, but what can you do on the Windows 8.1 version that you can or can't do on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5.

The only problem i´ve noticed so far is that, sometimes (more than I could ignore it...) the mouse cursor disappear when I am using Chrome. Of course I miss my windows button and, sometimes, I stumble in some of the touch features. Finally, since I am brazilian, I would rather have brazilian keys in the keyboard..

In Windows there is a option to "Hide mouse cursor while typing". If its not that, then make sure you didn't touch the screen, if you use any touch (Or "Tablet Features) it will set the Surface into "Tablet Mode" meaning the cursor (Witch you *don't* want to see in tablet mode) gets hidden until you use a actual Mouse/MousePas or the Physical Keyboard. My guess is you do something to make the Surface go into Tablet Mode and it hides the mouse for you. Also it could be Chrome itself... Chrome is known for being garbage 90% of the time now days... IE11 (The newest IE that comes with any SP3) is actually quite faster (It beat Chrome in Benchmark tests and is not the worlds fasted browser), and is made by MS themselves meaning everything works better... since the Surface and Windows are also made by MS. As for your Windows Button... what do you mean you "Miss it"? Its still there... your not using Windows 8 are you? All Surface Pro 3's come with Windows 8.1 as far as I know.... witch means it has a Start Button...

Battery is an issue for you because you are using Chrome. It is said that Chrome drains the battery by 25%.
