Does it come with a power-brick that is as big as the doc itelf? I see the plug for the power-brick, but reviews just don't show what comes in the box!

Hi, yes the power supply unit is a similar size to the dock.

Why do you think I only get 85-88 Mbps download from the ethernet connection? I run a Surface Pro 9 on this dock. Other PCs on my network can get 760 Mbps (my service from my ISP is 1200 Mbps). I recently replaces it (11 months old) with a brand new Microsoft Thunderbolt™ 4 Dock and the ports gets exactly the same 85-88 Mbps download speed.

If you also have wifi enabled on the laptop, I would surmise it is using the WiFi connection as primary network connection and not the wired one on the dock. To be sure disable WiFi on the laptop so it has to use the docks 2.5gb Ethernet. Then run speedtest again. If you still have issues it could also be a link auto negotiation issue between the docks Ethernet port and the switch you are plugging it into. If it is a managed switch log into it and see what link speed auto negotiated to and try forcing it to 1gbit

Wonder if you tested the speed of 2.5G Ethernet port. Most docks didn't fulfill their claim. Thank you.

battery drains under any decent load, 97w or whatever it is is not enough. even with that big power supply it comes with

this is a dock not meant for travel, there travel specific hubs. The power brick is essential for connecting many powered peripherals.
