Microtech CYPHER 2 closer look!

Finally, I ordered my first Microtech otf. Decided on the Cypher II apocalyptic wharncliffe. I've always really liked the Hellhound blade design, so i do plan to buy another at some point, but I'm thinking it would probably be worth waiting for Gen III Hellhounds & Warhounds.

I got my wife this blade from MT as a gift and holy crap I am jealous. I have the older smaller version (not the cypher) and she is blown away. Awesome AMERICAN MADE quality, made here in Western NC! Thanks guys yall really turn the knife world on their head again.

This is a great first look video, thanks! I just got a proof run version for $470 (score!) and I love the fact that it doesn’t have the cheap looking glass ball on the pocket clip.

I got my cypher 2 yesterday. I honestly prefer the silicon carbide ball on the clip and this will definitely be in my rotation. I have the cypher 2, combat troodon, and the scarab 2 in the new releases. I’m waiting on mt to release the combat troodon in an S/E blade…

I bought one thinking awesome I'll have warncliff microtech.... yea every single time you open or close it, it's dragging the edge on the gate so it's guaranteed to daw every time you fire it!! Built in dawing mechanism!

What makes you think it’s dragging the edge every time? You’re the only persons I’ve seen say that. Have even talked to engineers that have taken cyphers apart and they’ve all said it does not drag. If yours is you probably have an out of spec gate.

I really liked the look of the smooth body variant of the previous cypher. Hopefully they do that with this one. Gonna look sleek af with no body screws
