I just installed one of these on my m416 trailer. It's great. If it had Bluetooth it would be phenomenal. But for the price you can't beat it. I have two voswitches between two jeeps. But i think this one for the price and function notches them out

I noticed the instructions mention to preferably not mount the control box in the engine bay,

I did not notice that! It's probably not a bad idea to mount it inside if you have a spot for it. However, the relay/fuse box is coated in a sealant so I think it'll be ok. The rules might be different for folks living in really salty areas.

Do they maintain the memory when you just turn the ignition off and back on without turning the power off at the panel?

I don't think so. I messed with it a bit this morning. I think you will have to use the power button on the panel. But it does maintain memory with the power button

What gauge wire did you run to the battery?

I used 10ga on one of my installs. I don't remember what I used in this video though. I took the provided piece and got a similar size

Your original set up made me want to throw up. 6 différent types of switches all in random locations. The new solution is classy. Good upgrade.
