+BUCKWILD 303 It's not dumb. Its just an impossible feat for our country. I can see our country easily banning firearms like semi-auto rifles in city areas, but anything further than that is far from easy. Illegalizing firearms has worked, like Australia and England, although not every country is the same and we are nothing like Australia or England. Jerry - I just went shooting over the weekend. Your pistol gripping technique dramatically changed my marksmanship. I used to drop low and right consistently, no matter how I tried to hold the weapon. I used your method and went from 2 or 3 out of 10 in the bullseye to 8-10 out of 10 in the bullseye. Amazing what a difference a grip makes. I was even showing off and hitting dead center of a small box in the corner of the paper target at 5 yards. Not a long shot, but most self defense shooting is at 10 or less yards. Thank you for putting this video together.
@ProudVet-Russ
@ProudVet-Russ 2 жыл бұрын
i believe the fbi study your thinkin of said 7 yards or less. i tend to shoot handguns at 10 just to give myself a lil wiggle room. figure if you can hit a playing card at 10 yards youll be fine with a person at 7.

I notice Mr. Miculek even EVERY time he crosses the plane of the camera operator, even with checked weapons AND the mock weapons, he points the muzzle in a safe direction. He does it ALL correctly. He's a year older than me, and age and experience for me has paid off too. Every time I qualify for my permit, I've turned in scores better than 98% of the officers on my old department. Learn the right ways to do it, and practice your ass off. Mr. Miculek obviously has practiced a lot more than pretty much everybody I know, and he shoots better than anybody else I've ever seen.
@danovichi
@danovichi 7 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. His muzzle discipline is spot on! Only points the weapon AT the camera using a polymer replica of the weapon, and in all other demonstrations he treats the weapon as if it is loaded. An example that all shooters should follow closely!

I'm fairly new to carrying a personal firearm and have been training to become a more accurate and reliable shot. Your tips are really appreciated! I wasn't sold on the isosceles stance but I didn't have anyone explain why it's so much better than the weaver stance. I've been training weaver so I have to start from ground zero with stance. Also, the tip of having the finger in front of the trigger guard is really helpful. I can't wait to try these out!

It's darn near identical to a Glock 19 gen 3 kzbin.infoUgkxnX9wE_Q8zvF75Y5iWzTU3Q4FlrtyGApQ . Feels almost real and handles quite well. Only gripe is a common problem for BB guns. If you slightly pull the trigger and tip the gun forward, the BB rolls out. Just be sure of your shot and fully pull the trigger, no issue!

I always grouped well shooting slow, but had to cheat with the sights being moved. Now even though my groups are about the same size(in slow fire), I don't need the sights moved to be in the bulls eye and when shooting at speed I was orders of magnitude better........all in 150 shots thanks to Jerry's video....he is as awesome as a teacher as he is as a shooter! I remember watching this video when I was younger and trying to be a better shot and was taking my young son to the range to teach him gun safety and how to hit the broadside of a barn. This video (along with others) really improved my pistol shooting and helped me to teach my son. Fast forward, my son went on to be an Untied States Marine (not a soldier, don’t get it twisted, and no disrespect) and I stopped going to the range. Lately I’ve really missed going to the range and I’m buying new guns and feel “rusty” so I’m watching more advice videos, this one is a gem. Great shooting starts and ends with the fundamentals and this video is an awesome tool! Thanks and God bless!

shockwavebramble Yea shooting a gun accurately is not easy without training , even low calibers like 9mm will have enough recoil to shock a new shooter, talking from personal experience... Then again this guy Jerry says his been shooting for more than 40 years so go figure that almost twice my age.

kenshi600 I shot my new pistol wich is a 9mm and I was suprised at the kick it had , I have only shot pistols twice before about 6/8 years ago. But after the third mag it didn't seem like hardly nothing at all I grew up shooting rifles and shot guns and quickly noticed pistols are completely different.
@kenshi600
@kenshi600 9 жыл бұрын
Kevin Ropp Yea the same for me , my first pistol was a compact 9mm it had a kick to it at first then i grew accustomed to it after a few times shooting it until at times i fire so quick it feel like its firing itself , calibers like .40 sw and .357 mag definitely have a kick to it 9mm is a good starting round.
@kenshi600
@kenshi600 9 жыл бұрын
Fiton naa you dont quite get it, for me atleast. a kick is like you said when a gun wants to smack you in the head or wants to fly out of your hand like when a .45 .410 shot shell or a compact 9mm like my G2 fires and that recoil feels like a "kick".
