A pod of three ATOMRC Dolphins flying over the desert until suddenly two of them collide in mid-air. The planes managed to land safely, though one lost its nose and was very hard to control.

Where those drones?
@eitaje10 ай бұрын
Yes, those are remote control drones, not an actual airplanes. If they were airplanes, the result was catastrophical

You were able to regain control?
@eitaje10 ай бұрын
Yes! Both airplane landed safely, though one lost its nose 😞 in the accident. The planes flew as usual in the following week 😊

Did them both landed safely?
@eitaje10 ай бұрын
Hi @peretzer. Yes, after the accident, they both landed safely, although one of them lost its nose after the collision and was fairy hard to control. I think it's safe to say that they both will fly again next weekend :-)

The black body and white hatches - it should have been named the Orca... And you video could then have the name - "rare mating scene of airborne orcas" hope the planes are fine tho...

Yea, I agree, these where better named Orca. I don't really understand how AtomRC name their airplanes 🙂 the title you propose is better than I choose, I mean it's definitely more funny! The planes landed safely after the collision. We had enough hight for the flight controller to recover. By the way, I really enjoy your videos. They are great! Gotten tag!

@@eitajethanks, it's "Guten Tag" btw. Nice to hear you could land both planes! Last meeting my Dolphins Motor (stock) died. Didn't notice and got an ugly stal. Now I have more power with a 2600kv motor ;)

@@Rcschim Thanks for correcting me :-) I guess that you have a 4S setup if you're flying the stock engine. Me and my friends fly the Dolphin with 6S setup, F90 T-Motor (2806.5) 1500kv, which gives a much more enjoyable flight experience, compared with the 4S setup. You should try it :-) Sorry to hear that your motor died during flight. Did you stress it too much?

@@eitaje I've burnt 2 motors now since I was to stupid to consider the propcalc tool ;) I was using an available multistar 2206-2600kv with the 7x4.2 2blade props - toast ;) so you suggest the F90 1500kv, what prop size there? easy launches? ESC? can I use my 6S 1300mah packs? sounds like they would fit...

I use AZURE 6145 three blades or Gemfan Flash 7042 two blade with the F90 1500V. The ESC I use is the Hobbywing XRotor 40A. This setup is very stable. I like it very much. Recently I bought T-Motor Velox 3008 1500kv, which is much stronger motor (just for the fun of it, I don't think that the F90 is even remotely weak). I'm going to attach to the Velox 3008 the 70A-G071 V2 ESC (you can buy all of these stuff on Aliexpress). I'm going to test this setup this Friday. It should allow vertical takeoff :-) Regarding the battery, 6S 1300mah is a good fit. it will give you around 5-13 minutes of flight, depend on your flying style. I usually fly with 6S batteries ranging from 1300mah to 3300 mah (I needed to cut some foam for the battery to fit, but its worth it).
