"Ett hem" means "a home". Karin Larsson was mainly the one who incorporated the colour into the Larsson home. It was a cheap way to give you home a new look (and it still today). If you ever visit Sweden do not miss to visit the house Karin Larsson so lovingly designed.

I have been enjoying this series, learning & laughing much. However, Mr. Llewelyn-Bowen may want to have the close captioning reviewed rather than depending on the automatic transcription; notably in this particular episode @ 3:00 I am sure he did not refer to the "simplicity and down-to-earth penis of the way life was lived is Sweden." Or perhaps he did. I chuckled, tho' the CC does often mangle his witticisms.
