Always enjoy your talking tours. Sorry you've had so much rain; we need some badly. I think, right at the end, that your honeysuckle might be Dropmore Scarlet. I garden in zone 4a in western Canada, north of Montana.

I think you are right. I am looking for Major Wheeler honeysuckle to plant by my rose arch. I think that one has a scent to it. Thanks for watching and the name of the honeysuckle

In the old days they use to roll up wet newspapers to catch earwigs. I'm in zone 4 WI and we've had all that rain and, for the first time ever, millions of mosquitoes. You've done a good job keeping the gardens going.

Hi Susie, I think your garden looks beautiful despite all the rain. Some of the flowers you showed with problems like the tall white spike one I also have the same problem with mine. Don’t ever get milkweed because ever since I got them I have had problems with aphids and spider mites! Never ever had these problems before! Love the rudbeckia and straw flowers cosmo’s and dahlias are gorgeous! Always look forward to your garden tours so Tyfs! 🌺🌼🌺🌻🌸

It’s been a year! Z5a, WI-too much rain, wildlife pressures AND mosquitoes! So hot and humid that I can’t enjoy or work in the garden with a head net and long sleeves. We didn’t have so much wildlife problems in the drought. Nocturnal ps are pushed up from flood and rabbits first time ever are digging under the fence 😡. Very nice garden tour! I was just thinking if there was any flowers I didn’t have to stake-no. The wind from the storms were strong. We are finally getting a break from heat and rain and yes, I think it will be an early fall. The mock orange bloomed 2 weeks earlier and the tomato blight is 3 weeks earlier. I’ve never had problems growing tomatoes and this year they are stunted. Today I’m starting fall veg garden where I have space and hopefully that goes well. It’s getting tricky to garden anymore.

Being in a drought for 3 years wasn't fun, but after this year, I would gladly be in a drought again. The mosquitoes are horrible. I am always in a long sleeve shirt, doused with mosquito spray and a head net also. The weather has been cooler than normal. Not sure if my tomatoes are even going to ripen. They were amazing last year. Oh well, hopefully my cucumbers start to put on some size. Thanks for watching and good luck with your fall veg garden

Whoa! The Color of the first Dahlia you showed is beyond gorgeous, and the Cosmos! I just love those colors ❤️ What variety of Astrantia is that? I just looked up Astrantia and I can grow it in my zone and I love the color of yours, so would like to try to find it. I remember the first time I saw your Hydrangea Fire Light? - the one you said you were going to get rid of if it doesn’t bloom, you did an evening tour and it just stood out and looked like it was on fire, it was the way the sun was hitting it. I loved it so much I bought 2, very small ones though and am now waiting for them to bloom also. I’m sure that was the one I saw and can’t believe you are not having luck with it. I had to take a stem of leaves off one of one of my other hydrangeas to the garden Center to get help with what was wrong as the some leaves are black around the edges and I guess it’s too much water, we have had more rain this year than the last three together! Also the year for Aphids and everything is covered in sticky s***! Been a strange year for lots of us! Anyway, your gardens are beautiful! Take care Brenda🇨🇦

The Astrantia is Sparkling Stars Pink. I got them from Great Garden Plants online last year. They were a little spendy, but they bloomed for me, I think in August last year and looked amazing. Money well spent. Little Hottie Hydrangea barely bloomed last year, but looks great this year. I am hoping Firelight Tidbit blooms this year. The rain has made a huge difference this year. The Hydrangeas look great. Some are yellowing and dropping their leaves. It has been a very weird season for sure. Thanks for watching

Susie I always get excited when you post! Looking beautiful. Glad everything made it through the flooding. What was the blue Veronica you said you grew from seed? Did I miss the variety name? Deanna
@floralnhardy73325 ай бұрын
It is called Sight Seeing Mixture. I got the seeds from swallowtailgardenseeds.com. That one did bloom the first year I had started it from seed. It is a mix, so I did get a pink and a white one too, which is right next to the purple one, but the purple one is taller and more vigorous. Thanks for watching

@@floralnhardy7332I grew the same last year and thought it was a goner, but it surprised me with a purple only. Yes it’s very tall and liking speedwells better than salvias because they don’t splay out. My newest favorite is penstemon.

How do you care for your geraniums? How often do you water them?
@floralnhardy73325 ай бұрын
I add a slow release fertilizer when I first plant them and so far I haven't had to fertilize them, but they had an abundance of rain water this year. In a normal year, I would fertilize once every 2 weeks with a water soluble fertilizer and I let them dry out between waterings. They don't like being overly wet and I dead head all the time. Thanks for watching and hope this helps

So you are having good luck with growing dahlias in pots?
@floralnhardy73325 ай бұрын
I prefer growing Dahlias in the ground, but I couldn't get them in the ground due to my gardens being flooded. I have issues with them rotting in containers, so I have to be careful with watering. Thanks for watching

@@floralnhardy7332I’m not too thrilled with dahlia upkeep. I’m thinking if I found one that I truly loved then maybe. I might not dig the ones I started from seed this year. See how I feel about it this fall. I don’t have a great storage area. Our winters have been too warm maybe they will winter over😂.

Hi Susie, thank you for this video! I'm not too far away in Northern Illinois zone 5B. Sorry about the mosquitoes! Ours haven't been that bad yet, but I'll probably jinx it since we've started getting all the rain that you've been getting. We got a big storm yesterday with tornado warnings so we spent much of the evening in the basement. I loved seeing your cut flowers from seed. I started cut flowers this year in our new raised beds, and I just started a new KZbin channel to document everything. Yours are further ahead, this was my test year! Hope you can check my channel out Anne @MartinHouseFlowers 💚👩🏻🌾🦋
