Love the texture from the wall paper! Filling in those lines is tricky! I just did the same on a side table. Filled them and painted table top. It looked perfect....until I top coated it last night! Little bit of shadowing where the lines are. Not perfect, but still looks better than when it started! Love the wall paper idea💖💖💖

It’s always tricky! Usually with a few coats of primer and paint you can camouflage old hardware holes but I was worried that with all those lines I didn’t stand a chance 🥴

Just a recommendation, when I fill lines like you were I put some in a bag and cut the corner to fill it in like cake icing then smooth it with a putty knife. Might help and is faster for me. Hope that helps.

I love the color and hardware, but I can’t say I’m a big fan of the addition of the paper. I think the grooves on the drawers should have been left, it would have looked much nicer. Also if the small round hardware was left on some of the drawers would looked much better. I feel like you removed some of its mid century modern charm.

My husband has done many a furniture restoration. He has learned to slip a piece of paper between the block and the veneer when clamping a glued veneer. Great show as usual. So calming .

I had Bassett dressers from same time period as yours. I decoupaged fabric and wallpaper to the drawers. Looked great. The set was from my in-laws who got them in the ‘50s and we had them at least 30 years. They turned out great! Just sent them on to another DIYer.

I absolutely love the finished results! I had a beautiful old dresser that I found by the side of the road. I brought it home with the intention of restoring it. My husband kept telling me it was junk because the Venere was chipped off in places. He threw it out. Someone else came along and picked it up. I was so mad at him! The construction was perfect. Dovetail drawers and all. ☹️

Well Done as always Katie!! From $5 to a million bucks. The paintable wallpapers are great for covering up flaws. I use the beadboard pattern on dresser sides that are less than perfect.
