Great video, Jimmy! Nice to see No.5 out and about (despite the rain). A friend is slowly building a Sweet Creek variant, so I should be able to experience a ride-in loco one of these days (though I fear it may ruin me for my ride-on stuff!). That Pacific DOES sound terrific - things don't get more square than that! And I don't recall seeing a chain-driven trailing truck before. Very cool. Definitely looking forward to your update on the home railroad. Take care...

Thanks so much, Dave!!! We definitely enjoyed our visit to MSLS, really amazing what they’ve done with the space, and how much the town park’s infrastructure has grown around the railroad. I think you’ll love riding in the cab too!! It’s really apples to oranges, I still crave running my 1” stuff just as much, but it definitely satisfies the “big throttle” itch for me and I pinch my fingers much less 🤣. I’m still painfully behind on video-editing here, but the railroad is coming along quickly now with the addition of my new Kubota! Moved 25 tons of ballast last week, 25 more delivered. Hopefully I can finally extend an invitation for you guys to come run one of these days!! Hope you’re doing well! 🔥

@@FoxIslandRailroadCo I'm definitely less comfortable on my 4-3/4" gauge stuff now than I used to be. Looking forward to finishing my 7.25" engine one of these days. Wow, that's a lot of ballast! Kubotas look like really nice tractors. My old Massey-Ferguson is approaching 50 years old, but it makes life so much easier around the railroad, even on my little pike. 🙂

@@rockyridgeshops7109 That’s awesome! Always really enjoy watching the progress on your big engine, she’s going to be stunning!! I’m also a bit jealous of your older machine to be honest haha, unfortunately the used market is so crazy down here that I couldn’t find anything for a suitable discount to new. That being said, I did get super lucky with this machine and I’ve been loving it so far, so I’m grateful this one found me!! 🙌🏻

@@FoxIslandRailroadCo Thanks so much. And don't be jealous of my old clunker - it's old enough to be worn out, but not old enough to be a "classic!"😆 (Sort of like me 🤣) Hope we get to see that new Kubota in future vids.

I'm guessing your engine is built by RMI. Is it brand new or new to you? Is it a reliable engine? I'm considering purchasing from them in the future

Hey there! Great question, this is actually Not an RMI loco but an earlier, slightly smaller and sturdier predecessor- Dulce was designed and built in Perth, Australia by Willis Light Engineering. The RMI locos are slightly simplified, still great locos, I believe I’ve run almost every wheel arrangement they offer over the years. Like anything, it depends who builds the kit… but overall, they’ve always been great locos for most hobbyists needs! I will relay that I’ve heard folks having trouble getting ahold of RMI the last 6 months or so, may be worth waiting to send a check to see how that plays out. I’m a big fan of the RMI catalog myself, so I sure hope all is well!! There is a small blurb on the loco’s history in the description if you’re interested, and I look forward to sharing more of Dulce’s story soon. I do highly recommend (and really enjoy) the “ride-in” style locomotives if you have the space and resources to maintain, it’s a whole different experience both maintaining and operating for sure! Cheers 🔥

Unfortunately without equipment no real reason to go there anymore

Why do you say that? The club does not require equipment for membership or to attend meets!
