@Laura Beth I'm not sure... they can change it any time. This code is for the month of February... it might carry over to March but I am not sure yet! I'll create a post here on KZbin if it changes :)

I’m so glad I’m not the only homeschool momma that overbuys & is super excited about adding more. I’m in that spot that I’m in declutter mode & trying to pull back /rotate out what we want to do right now vs what we will get to later. But yeah. That’s where we are at.

We like the Story of The world audio and I had every intention of doing the worksheets/projects to go with it. 🙈 Mom fail. Did not do them at all this year. But my kids love listening to it and are learning a lot.

Girl I totally feel you on buying too much!! This is my 3rd year and now when I buy something I really have to think about if I truly need it or is it too much. I think we have to remind ourselves we can't do it all. It's so hard!!

Also, I’d love to see a video about what you do with your preschooler! My 2 and a half year old stopped napping recently and I’m wanting to do a little more educational play and activities with him (mostly because he asks to do school when his big brothers are!), but he’s definitely not ready for a full on preschool curriculum! I love the idea of having a basket or bin just for him to pull out during school time!
@lifewithginab Жыл бұрын
I will definitely be sharing it in a future video! ❤️ yes, the littles totally want to participate, and this little basket with activities makes them feel like they are part of our homeschool "work" time 😆

I am new to homeschooling this year with my 8th grader and my 12th grader. I also have a 2 year old and a 3 month old that i also plan to homeschool. This video is great giving me LOTS of ideas for my little guys, as well as my big guys! They do most of their schoolwork online right now, but i cant wait for when my babies are big enough to start this stuff! I already work with my 2 year old, but its mostly games and reading books, and he is a very hands on kid, and it sounds like yours are too! So, thank you very much! Ps, i like your background lol

I do Abeka for the bulk of it, for several reasons, the most being that their organization helps me stay organized. I'm not a professional long termed seasoned homeschooling mom. So I need the whole here's your schedule type of thing buy I have added IEW Structure&Style year 1 level B for my 6st grader. We love it so far. ❤️

Congratulations on the puppies! I love puppies! Even though they are hard work. Middle of the night potty times. It was hard homeschooling and having a puppy. Because every 20 minutes they needed to go potty. Mine are almost 3 years old now and they still have to go outside 2 times during the night. But we love them so much.

If your looking into something spelling curriculum wise for your younger son, I used the Evan more sight words books, they give a list of sight words and other spelling type activities could be more challenging and make him feel like he is doing similar work to his older brother! Not sure if you have looked into that yet or not. Also about explode the code my kids are using explode the code level one and using the good and the beautiful level k they use it as independent work as I work with the other ones. You could deff skip the get ready for the explode the code but I would start at level one.

I add too much to our homeschool as well!!! We unschool geography and we love it!!! My youngest loves explode the code but we take her curriculum slowly but she’s reading a lot as well!!! She’s now doing the normal explode the code!!! We love TGTB spelling in level K but not for my older kids!!! We love sonlight history and we also do local history!!! We love campfire curriculums!!! I’m not sure how I’m going to teach storm safety but we are doing stuff on it!!! Puppies are awesome but I find the puppy stage hard!!! We have 2 dogs and we love that they are mature and still playful!!! We are thinking of getting a pup tho!!!

Looking forward to it. I am changing up how much we use to save money. Plus I have to potty train my newly minted 3 year old so I want less curriculum this spring. It will be interesting to see what you have to say.

You'll hear me say less is more in my video quite a few times! I think we might be thinking the same thing... my goals for next year is definitely to simplify! :)

To continue now that the video is up. My daughter loved Fix It Grammar Nose Tree. We do it on Saturday mornings. She finds the story so funny. I don’t know. She like the princess being called out. That is her sense of humor lol! I bought the Town and Country one to continue. I noticed that I have a lot of LA and need to cut down myself. I am glad you showed us a new option for Bible. I really need to stop spending money so I will definitely look at it. My son is going through something. He keeps eating and our groceries are making me broke. Anywho. He likes the 180 Days of spelling paired with Explode the Code so I didn’t cut out that out. Are you tired? Cause I really hear your Canadian accent more on your video. LOL! Don’t worry. I get told I have a strong yankee accent by girls in Virginia. Finally, if I could I would show you my messy background if KZbin allowed pictures. Have a nice week.

@Sarah E first of all ... I love your comments... they always make me smile or lol... YES I am so tired hahah and I definitely have a Canadian accent... I've noticed this since I've started recording videos 😅 thank you so much for sharing and watching Sarah! ❤️🙏

I forgot to tell you a little nugget of wisdom. My daughter was fast with the spelling and reading like your son was. Go with the flow but don’t necessarily put him up a grade level. The maturity needs to catch up even though they are acting like they are ready. Give him different subjects and extracurriculars. My oldest was advance for almost (not math) everything. She is brilliant in science and reading. She’s 8 and tests for 5th grade. The problem is she isn’t mature enough to handle writing the papers and do the bigger kid work. I will say encourage and challenge him but don’t necessarily bump him up in every subject in September.

@Sarah E thank you for this Sarah! 🙏 ❤️ I always worry about that too and don't want to push him! I so appreciate your advice!

We have been using Lifepac and it doesn't go over things very well. It skips around. So this year we started BJU Press for History and Science and it is working very well. So we ordered the English for this coming year. But my girls are behind in English so we are doing an Evan Moor English as soon as it comes in the mail. It is to go back over some grammar we have missed and I'm adding maps, and geography from Evan Moor to this coming year. My girls are not going to be happy. They don't like when I add things.
@lifewithginab Жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing! I'm glad that BJU is working for you... I've never tried BJU but I know a homeschool mom that loves it!
