I also flip through all the spreads I've made so far this year, and lastly I make spreads for the books I read in July! It's a very varied collection of books haha!

I agree that when you layer, the journal gets too bulky. I used to also remove some of the middle pages, in anticipation of the bulk. However, I encountered the same problems you have now in your journal. Another option for you would be to remove entire folios instead. Just leave the first leaf in each folio, which is usually glued to the backing fabric anyway. I usually count the folios first and remove every even numbered one, leaving the first and last folios intact anyway. This usually leaves me with a little bit more than half the original pages, but I find its the right amount, just to keep the journal evenly closed. Your channel is calm vibes as ever.

For non-fiction - audiobooks might help make them more accessible for you! You could listen at your own pace while doing other things. If your library has digital options, it's a great way to give audiobooks a go without needing to worry about how pricy they can be. There seems to be a trend in the online reading-video-making community of needing to race to read a ton of books. Of hitting numbers of 'books read' instead of just...reading for the pleasantness of it. If you read one book a month and take value from the experience, that is worth more than 20 a month that you just forget as soon as you put down. I go through phases where I easily hit over 20 a month; right now, I'm lucky if I read one or two a month. Which is okay, it is what it is. 💚 Some recommendations: In Ascension by Martin McInnes (sci-fi) Below the Edge of Darkness by Dr Edith Widder (nonfiction) Anne of Green Gables (classic) Piranesi by Susanna Clarke (fantasy)

I HIGHLY recommend A Night in the Lonesome October by Roger Zelazny! It has 31 chapters, one for each day of the month! (plus an intro chapter) It has many classic scary story references/characters like dracula, frankenstein, sherlock holmes, etc and it is gripping and spooky and fun and my friend and I read it every year! 🎃💚

Just a little suggestion for 2024. The list of items at the very beginning of a journal / book, with page numbers in numerical order is actually the contents page. The index goes at the back and is not in page number order but alphabetical order of topics / themes with relevant page numbers. I think the original bujo guy got them mixed up and unfortunately it seems everyone has followed him. I really hope one influencer will realise and let everyone know. 😊

For non-fiction, which I also find really difficult, try reading Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Potawatomi professor Robin Wall Kimmerer, I found this book fascinating and I got sucked in like I was reading a fantasy novel.

I always recommend 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' by Ray Bradbury for an October read. It's the PERFECT book to get you in the Halloween/spooky season. It's not the scariest horror book out there, but it's creepy and eerie and filled with imagination. I would HIGHLY recommend it!💚

🦎 I like Heart of The Sun Warrior spread by Sue Lynn. The warm hues. Desire I comprehended your verbiage. Delighted, you pointed out a spooky reader. I exist reading The Cauldron Stirred by Judith Sterling. Fantastic setting in Ireland. The sceneries stand impressive but it exists not so sizably analogous to mysticism as the cognomen. Remarkable engagement. Shiva hallowing in your contemporary apartment. Stand unassailable. 🦎

Are you reading these books in English and writing your experience down in Norwegian? That'd be an interesting approach, I tend to keep my reviews in the same language as the books themselves, cause it feels easier to express thoughts that way.
