He has been overcoming many obstacles in order to spread his talent around the world and now he's getting it. Best singer from Brasil and probably one of the best of the world nowadays. This song was nothing compared to his performances on AGT, where he was a hit every time. He got Sophie's Golden Buzzer, which moved him to the final's competition, where the public voted for the first time to select the finalists. They gave him a song "Something Beautiful" by Jacob Banks which is a slow song with not much range, it's a great song, but a completely different style then what he had been singing for weeks. They must have known he would do great at the song and please all the judges, but the voting public wouldn't be expecting that type of song from him. Thirty seconds in and you knew something was up. Go back and look at how worried and puzzled the judges looked during the song. Every single judge commented later on how surprised they were at the choice of the song, but because he actually sang it perfectly and murdered the last 30 seconds of it where he was able to showcase his real talent,. They all praised his performance and all predicted he was a shoo in for the finals. A perfect stacking of the deck. The fans hated the song and not only did he not make the finals, he didn't make the wildcard. His mother gave an interview the next day on Brazilian TV and said the producers picked the song and Gabriel begged for two weeks to sing something else, he even gave them a list of 6 songs to choose from, but they refused. They invited him back to participate in finals week, but he refused and went home to concentrate on his career. Why did they do it? Who knows, and we will probably never really know. Was it to protect Simon's Golden Buzzer pick, who was a blind Muslim teenage girl from Indonesia? Don't get me wrong, she was fantastic & may very well have won anyway. I would've loved to seen a Gabriel and Putri Ariani final, not matter who won, so long as they got to choose their own song.

I remember the song ended and I stood there for about two minutes with my mouth open, trying to digest what I had heard.
