Lidl Espresso Machine & Coffee Grinder

I have it for almost a year, its not the fastest and most stable espresso machine on earth but offers great value for the money. Its good for the beginners and learning basics of how to make a good espresso and derived drinks, experiment with different coffee blends, ground textures etc. The water temp gauge is absolutely a great and useful feature, and I wonder why most manual machines from specialty manufacturers do not feature a gauge too. But if at a later stage you switch to a Gaggia or DeLonghi MANUAL machine you will perhps need no gauge since you will be trained from this SilverCrest and know what shall be the temperature at any point of the brewing process.

I bought the other silver crest espresso machine, but im sure the parts inside are identical. Great little machine. Something very important that i ignored until lately that makes an awful difference for me making good espresso. I was using a grinder like the one here which i thought was good, i recently bought an electric burr grinder on Amazon and i cannot believe the difference in consistency for making my espresso. As the other grinder is hit and miss with how fine or course u grind by just pressing the button, and i thought i had it mastered by sight but no. The other machine u set the grind and the ground comes out into a container the exact same every time and u wouldn't believe the difference it makes. Another thing with my machine was that the steam wand stopped working properly but i now use a little hand held battery frother which i think works better anyway.

Mine broke after a few months. The espresso shot still works but the foaming stopped working. Only used it maybe 10 times in those couple of months so I'd recommend spending a bit more for a more reliable machine.

That's a shame. If you still have your receipt you should take it back for exchange / refund. Ours still works great thankfully :o)

I wanted buy 150€ delonghi great coffee maker . But i feek like its more than i want spend on my 1st coffee maker so i still search but even before him i looked for this one from lidl. If i could ask , do you really need wait 5-15 minutes to use him again from making milk to doing coffee again? Thats what i heard and made me hesitates

@@Mandyglen using dedica ec 685 and its great ngl but portafilter is inside plastic so even bought bottomless portafilter 45€ with is bigger and hard to use . Bought new temper 21€ since delonghi use bad plastic one . Bought blade grinder fo 15€with was bad for espresso so bought manual so great retro grinder like wooden box for just 15€. But all o this and 150€ delonghi coffee machine and i am already on price of better almost 300€ coffee machine . Thats something if i knew before hand i would choose some difference with grinder to it . But well didnt knew about that but still its great and so small coffee machine. I liked this one from look but review of people change my mind .

New appliances can smell a bit funny first couple of times but that should disappear. Hope this helps.

Was the coffee you made an Americano? Can you make just espresso, no water?

This just makes espresso then you can heat / froth milk separately or dispense hot water for tea. I like to turn my espresso into Latte ))

Добрый вечер! Купила первую кофемашину Silver Crest в 2018 году,а вторую в 2019 году,а сейчас купила третью розового цвета! Всё хорошо,пользуемся до сих пор,но у меня сейчас появились вопросы! Расстроилась немного,пока не могу понять , разбираюсь, рожок вставляется хорошо,но не могу развернуть его скажем на 6 часов,сильно туго вообще идёт,боюсь сломать и когда кофе включаю идёт немного и останавливается на пару секунд,затем снова льётся кофе! Ранее таких проблем не было,думаю это что нововведение или брак?

Buongiorno la mia silvercrest fa degli ottimi caffè e buonissimi cappuccini ma pur avendo fatto la pulizia anti calcare con un buon prodotto la macchina continua a gocciolare dopo aver fatto il caffè qualcuno mi può consigliare come evitare il problema grazie

You chose the wrong milk to foaming.

You can froth any milk. High fat milk froths much better but we only drink low fat milk in our household.
