Maybe let your kids fail every once in a while. So many kids nowadays think the only reason they should do anything is "because mom says so". Maybe let them fail an assignment if they start it late. Maybe ask them to wash their clothes for a week and if they don't then they see what happens when they don't have any clean clothes laid on their bed by mom?

Obviously still support your kid but they need to be independent and not rely on you for absolutely everything so that they can be a emotionally mature independent adult when they're older.

Have to say, kids in the western culture really do have the luxury of being outright annoying...Lol! no offense. In our African culture you begin acting like this in the morning and you won't like the proceeding turn of events. Sometimes your parent will just let you drag by so you learn a valuable lesson when you find yourself late to school (coz you will be punished by the teacher on duty). Haha! Otherwise props Trey! Well done!! The playing video games 3 hours earlier is spot on. I literally have to take all controllers out of my son's room at night, even on the weekends. He would stay up ALL night and I'm not even joking.. and zero self control. If there is a container of cookies infront of him, he will eat all of them without hesitation. Putting the hat on rather than doing his hair is spot on. Mine likes to spend forever in the bathroom when he finally does roll out of bed as well. The mornings drive me insane.
