Bought some in March 2010. They are excellent, but will mark your paintwork dependant upon what you use as anchor points. I usually cross over from pillion peg hangar to rear rack

Thanks, good tip. I usually use the pillion handles and the rear rack as mounting points on the Crosstourer

Thanks for sharing your good experience with these. Excellent explained, demonstrated and hope you are using them regularly, which means you are in adventure with your pack :). Of course I will order immediately. Found an offer in ebay pair of 42" + pair of 60" in a Super bundle for 25 BP, which is a bargain. Don't know what color will receive, but whatever is, will work well, I know, thanks of your good video. High viz I thought would be good for passive safety in traffic... As I see you are adventurer can recommend one more bundle from the same seller - Rocky Creek Ultimate Tubeless Tyre Repair Kit - includes mini Motopressor and all in one puncture repair kit. Will put in the basket for 80 BP. Little expensive, but very compact and I find it as essential in the middle of nowhere. This is for tubeless tires, if yours are. I own AT Adventure Sports, which is originally with inner tubes, but have been converted in tubeless by previous owner. This is also interesting stuff, but another time as my comment became too long :) Sorry for that! Have a safe ride! Cheers! Ivo

Do you think the 16mm width ones will be sufficient for a 20 litre dry bag? Thanks
@MiddleagedRider6 жыл бұрын
Difficult to say, but would depend on what you've got stuffed into the bag and how heavy it is. If it's just t-shirts and jeans then probably, but anything more I'd go for the wider ones. Remember you want your bag solidly secure on the bike and don't forget to factor in the force on the bag with wind resistance when you're riding! Thanks for watching

Fairly unrelated question......what's the disc lock and cable combo you've got on the bike in the background?
@MiddleagedRider5 жыл бұрын
Lol - good spot!! Its an Oxford Monster disc lock. The cable came with it.

Just don't let them anywhere near your exhaust!

are the plastic clips sturdy enough our do they seem to be easily breakable?
@MiddleagedRider5 жыл бұрын
Seem very sturdy - I use mine to tie down 25kg blood boxes and they hold just fine.

Ratchet Straps are the absolute worse for loosening ,won't stay fastened with any movement at all...
