His objective is to understand, to put things into a perspective that hasnt been forced on people. Taking a cue from Gabor, what we should be doing is trying to understand why that woman is angry and hateful as she is; what narratival structures she’s captive to engender such anger and hate; that is the point that Gabor is trying to make. Yes. What's always surprised me is the number of intelligent people who routinely get sucked in by Western propaganda. It happens over and over. This time around is a little different, thanks (ironically?) to social media. People are exposed to alternative perspectives, that is, perspectives other than those of mainstream corporate and/or state-owned media. More and more folks are beginning to realize that the "truth" isn't easy to find; that powerful media are owned and controlled by corporate or state interests that have political agendas. Seems obvious. But needs to be said over and over again.
