Upsetting to see what Boro council has done to the area. All the history and character wiped away, what a shame. Great videos 👍

Great photos, I love how some places haven't changed much but others look like they've had their soul ripped out of them

Sorry for late reply just caught this. Excellent as ever. Saw a great piece of Middlesbrough history today. You will know that there is a WW2 bomb shelter under Linthorpe Road. But there is a yellow hand painted sign on the wall where the entrance used to be on the road you can still drive down between Linthorpe Rd and The Dundas. A security guard who worked there told me that he had walked the tunnels that made up part of the shelter. What amazed me was that the said they go as far as the old ABC Thanks hope that you are well Ant p

Hi Ant, thank you and no need to be sorry about anything as you've been a great supporter of my videos.. Yes I was aware of the bomb shelter and knew the entrance was where you mentioned but had no idea that it went as far as the ABC so thanks for that bit of information. I'm well thanks and hope that you are too. Stephen

Recently came across your channel and have now watched several of your videos. I grew up in Linthorpe in the 60’s and moved away in 1982. I now only visit for the occasional football match. When I walk to the Riverside, the end of Corporation Road is unrecognisable. I seem to remember a bike shop somewhere round there and also used to play in Coop music festivals somewhere in that area. Perhaps you can jog my memory

I can't help with the Coop music festivals Roger but the bike shop was Bobby's Cycles.

Thanks Stephen. It was Bobby’s cycles where my dad bought my first bike in early 60’s. Think it was demolished long before I moved away

The building is still there Roger, Bobby's Cycles were in business till 2017 but then changed ownership to Skinnergate Cycles for a few years till they moved premises. I'm not sure who has the building now.

Thanks Stephen. Just been on street view. You are right. The building is still there but shutters are now up. Seems some of that end of Corporation Road is still standing after all. Mind plays tricks after 4i years
