Many thanks for demonstrating the kind of playing that we mere mortals can relate to. The Lofi guy is doing a great job but I would never even _want_ to play the stuff that he does. As a software dev, I am in awe of this incredible signal processing achievement. I own MG-2 and it has been stated that we qualify for a no-charge upgrade. I for one will be purchasing a fresh license because these guys deserve a reward 👍😎👍

Thanks for your kind words - MIDI Guitar 2/3 is a fabulous piece of software indeed! I‘ll make another video about it as soon as possible.

I’m doing the BETA TESTFLIGHT in iOS and having a tough time doing the Remove Plugin I close the app then reopen it if I want to change plugins. Yes Lofi is amazing. I’m not near that level of a player especially with the wind controller. I’d pass out. It’s a learning curve for sure. Your demo is more realistic thanks for sharing.

Will they update the iPad version? Is there any new features? Mainly string assignment
@midiguitarist41407 ай бұрын
In the long run I think there will be a new iPad version, but MG 3 is still in beta so this is an early development stage. The main new feature is MPE and improved tracking. If you want more detailed information you should look at the „Lofileif“ channel as he seems to be associated with the developer. I haven’t found a string assignment feature thus far.

Great, I use midi guitar 2 with violin, it works well with zeta violin where the pickups are separated.

What pick up are you using on this? Or interface?
@midiguitarist41403 ай бұрын
I am using the built in Les Paul pickups running into a Metric Halo ULN 8 audio Interface. This signal is turned into MIDI by the MIDI Guitar 3 app.

Hello, thank you for your videos. I would like to ask you a question to know your opinion. Right now, what system do you think is most suitable for live use? MIDI Guitar or GM 800? Or maybe some other midi system for guitar? Thanks a lot
@midiguitarist41408 ай бұрын
At this moment for me the GM-800 is a lot easier to implement for live use - I combine it with a Mac mini running Gig Performer 4. So I have the best of both worlds - I am planning however to use MG 3 in this live setup to modify my ukulele, so it’s a combination of both.

Great playing and beautiful sound were created. Unfortunately, my CPU couldn't manage to handle this software.
@midiguitarist41405 ай бұрын
Thanks - I‘m glad you like it. Sorry to hear about your problem with the CPU - if you are interested in MIDI guitar technology, maybe it‘s worth having a look at the new BOSS GM-800 synth - there is a five part video series on my channel about it.

MIDI GUITAR 3 vs GM-800? :)
@midiguitarist41408 ай бұрын
That’s very hard to say because MIDI GUITAR 3 is still in its beta phase and it really depends on what you are looking for in a guitar synth. MG 3 definitely has a lot to offer in the synth sound design and expressive playability department whereas the GM-800 is great concerning the organ and electric piano sounds. Each of the two are great pieces of technology and the subjective quality really depends on the player and his preferences.

so wait, your guitar has a midi pickup?
@midiguitarist41406 ай бұрын
No it hasn’t - that’s what the video is all about. With the „MIDI GUITAR 3“ application on your MAC/PC you just need an ordinary audio interface. You plug your guitar into the Interface with a normal TRS cable and MIDI GUITAR 3 converts your guitar audio signal to MIDI.

Wrong! Yes you can stop the crackling sound you heard. Increase the software buffer size. Just remember, the higher buffer setting will have higher latency.
@midiguitarist41405 ай бұрын
Not wrong, I’m afraid - I did increase the buffer size, but due to used VIs + plugins + screen recording software my total CPU was taxed in such a way that the crackling occurred anyway. Thanks for watching!

I like the program but midi guitar is too expensive.
@midiguitarist41406 ай бұрын
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion but considering it costs less than a Boss GK pickup alone and you get lifetime updates I personally find it very fairly priced.

what? it's only 150 bucks. you can do so much with it. what's a cheaper alternative??

I am sorry for the confusion - as I said in the video, MIDI GUITAR 3 is still in its beta phase and only available to the people who had purchased MIDI GUITAR 2 before. You can however try the test version of MIDI GUITAR 2.
