MidJourney AI Tutorial: MidJourney Style Tune!

A new MidJourney feature was just released that allows you to fine tune your own styles… Sure, it might seem complicated at first, but watch this little 5 minute tutorial of how I use TUNE and you'll be a master in no time. I'll walk through the steps and even include prompts and images so we can inspect things as we go!

Ahh great question! Actually, yes, and it's a really smart way to "remember" your styles. You can use "/prefer option set" and first enter something you want to name it, so maybe "--washedout" (for a style like old film) then for value enter the full code, so "--style gDiZ457ezebfU"... Now you can simply prompt "a city --washedout" and it'll automatically change that to your custom style!

@@leoizarapple sucks and makes it difficult to add the dashes correctly. It should look like this -- In order to get it to type correctly, you have to do something like this -.- Then move your cursor to the period to delete the period. If you just type it twice it blends them together. So in midjourney it should look like this --style codehere

I tuned my first style ‘vaporwave neon’ but when I imagined a new image w this - style it didn’t look anything like the style I’d thought I’d setup. Odd.

It doesn't always work how you'd think, it is confusing sometimes. It's best to keep the /tune prompt short and sweet, not too much in there - then select only a few images so the style doesn't "compete" against itself, if that makes sense. Then your new prompt is best when related to the /tune prompt. So if your style is about "a portrait of a man", it might not translate to a "tall skyscraper" as well. And if you REALLY want something like "op art" or "red" it's best to include it in your new prompt as well with the style. Keep playing, it's fun, but I agree, sometimes it just doesn't translate how we want it to.
