Fantastic designs and typologies! This approach disrupts even the most daring parametric designs. 3D printing and robotic construction could bring all these into material world.

My thoughts exactly - Check out this other video on applying depth maps to 2D images to create 3D models. Soon, we will be able to 3D print from 2D concept art. Amazing! kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5CWgompermdgsU

so inspiring. thanks for this good reminder to be grounded in purpose, especially since I am in my discovery & infatuation phase with AI. Also love that you titled this one "Midjourney Prompts for Architects" -- prompting professionals to think more critically beyond how to get fascinating images...

Glad this served as a good reminder. It's easy to get distracted with all the beautiful imagery, but we need to continue seeking and defining purposes for these tools. Thanks for watching 🤘

I want to express my admiration for your design philosophy, which resonates with my beliefs. As architects and human beings, we are responsible for contributing to the betterment of society and advancing humanity to the best of our abilities. As such, it is essential that architecture promotes the well-being of the user and fulfills basic human needs, serving as a means of improving the quality of life for all. A successful design philosophy must be dynamic and continually evolving. Our ultimate goal as architects should be to gain a deeper understanding of the universe and to convey that truth through our designs. Unfortunately, many modern architectural works lack a coherent design philosophy and a well-defined concept resulting in sculptures rather than buildings. I agree with you 100%.

Thanks for tuning in - and I can say your line of thoughts are very consistent with my own. I'm hopeful that AI will enable us to move beyond our highly aesthetic-based design culture. But right now we are in an infatuation phase which is not too dissimilar from the early days of experimentation with digital 3D modeling and animation software. We will get there, but we need to push for it 🤘

I very much enjoyed your thoughts and concepts on architecture. I have always thought that we should learn to work in balance and harmony with the earth not the other way around . thanks for sharing.

Thanks for listening! We need to encourage that balance! Too many are focused on trying to overcome nature.

Stephen, thanks for this video, it is really helpful (Landscape architect here). However, I was thinking it would have been really useful if you had added a section dedicated to camera angles, as this seems to be a particularly tricky issue, with MJ. Best regards and keep up the good work !
@StephenCoorlas2 жыл бұрын
That would be a good topic for another video. I have come across some tricks, mainly using associations to guide the type of camera angle. For instance, "A poolside photo" will prompt MJ to draw from other images labeled as such, hence producing something from a similar angle. It's important to keep in mind these images are being generated based on real-life images, photos, and renderings including their camera angles.

@@StephenCoorlas i'd say it will soon do real time editing of the images and also 3d modeling, video etc. we just need to imagine stuff and tell it to visualize it. when it is capable to do good 3d models that can then be 3d printed with clay or geopolymers .. i'll be doing my happy dance :) love your videos hugs from greece

I've been messing around in MJ for over a month, and recently started trying to generate architectural interior spaces to composite characters and other elements into. One of the keys in architectural photography is of course controlling the angle of the camera. I have not yet found a way for instance, to consistently generate a one point perspective image when wanting to generate interior architecture with strong vertical and horizontal elements of the structure. Also, trying to convince the bot to render a room without windows seems impossible at least with everything I've tried. I've only dabbled with image prompts without consistent success so far, but am more interested in controlling with just prompts.
@StephenCoorlas2 жыл бұрын
I've had some success in DALL-E with consistently generating camera angles. Midjourney, I agree, has been more rogue in terms of defining. I would need to experiment with some very deliberate prompts in order to test this out, but I wonder if adding descriptors such as "eye level", "rectilinear composition", "leading lines", or other terms that orient the camera angle specific to interiors.

Does Midjourney produce nice classic/traditional architecture?
@StephenCoorlas2 жыл бұрын
I have not personally experimented with the formal classical genre of architecture in midjourney, but I have seen other’s generate very convincing imagery, yes.

It's all a collection of photos from what's available, but there's nothing called creativity. It is only beautiful in a short time, in terms of use, it is nil. Mid AI can never replace humans =))
@StephenCoorlas2 жыл бұрын
The creativity is in the prompt engineering to create the images, but I agree, the beauty is short lived.
