Dude, I just wish they wouldn't forget about that stuff for Discord users. I've spent so much time on Discord that using the website seems blasphemous to me xD I only use the website occasionally when I'm doing image research.

The alpha is really great for 'post-production', like batch-dumping or anything outside generating. However, I still prefer to generate in discord especially since you can still use the --repeat command to do more than one generation at a time. You can't now in their new website.

I'm pretty sure they're focused on the Website because they can't create these kind of things on Discord! They literally have to ask Discord to create these kind of features for them, and it's a pretty big bottleneck

Flux beats mj on well known characters and understanding positions and movement. But style, MJ always has that magic sheen. Especially with cinematics. Its a shame its falling behind others with strict long prompts.

The Midjourney community voted to prevent using 'Donald Trump' and 'Joe Biden' during election season.” Okay, but --Is that true??? I have over 120,000 generations, I rate images all the time, I’ve voted on ideas submitted ideas on the website, blah blah blah, and I was never asked about this…so it just feels like a lie to me- they decided to make this rule, which is fine, but then they won’t take responsibility for it, lol…

@@gersonemmanuelsantosfernan9237 it's really bad compared to flux. I wanted 2 children arguing over 2 action figures. One was wearing khaki tee shirt the other a mustard. Flux got 3 of these right. Tees and 1 figure. MJ got 1. Both kids wearing mustard tees. Luckily I've been on photoshop for 25+ years and could cut n paste in the other action figure. Such a shame MJ has fell behind. But hey, it's good to see their rooms are coming along nicely 🤣🤣🤣

This is a big step in the right direction. It's practical. Stuff like 'personalization' is interesting, but they still need to be able to organize things better. So let's say I now have 6 different ratios of an image for 6 different images, add in variations or some in-painting where the prompt of "remove arm" is now the prompt for searching. I now have a giant stream of images and I can't find anything. Now tired, I stop generating. MJ is fascinating, but needs to become less like stickies and more like a notebook. If they don't, they next competitor will. Thanks Nolan for keeping the light on. As always, you rock.

I paused Midjourney for now, or forever, because the lack of control over with prompts, the ocean of parameters that combined is hard to know what changes what, the focus of the platform on things they find cool (groups) and not what users really want (better hands, people good from afar), an other players delivering some amazing options. Now, it’s possible to train your own model with flux and create images of yourself or your character, etc. Without being attached to a subscription. I still love Midjourney, but now have other lovers.

I'm missing the ability to select using a rectangle while inpainting. I hope more features are coming to the editor, because changing the UI around for no good reason is annoying. It wastes time having to relearn everything.

always great to have a Nolan video to explain things... one thing to add to the new editor... I'm one of those people who when I get bored or just looking for new ideas... I 'blend' images... the more random the better, like throwing paint at a wall and seeing what develops... The problem? you can't use the new editor feature if there's no prompt. How ever they've structured it, it apparently can't look at the image prompts and figure out how to use them. Hopefully it'll be somehting they figure ut in a new update - but just in case anyone else out there uses that feature a lot like I do... it's not compatible with the new editor - at this time.

okay... had nothing else to do, so tried a trick I use in Photoshop when generative AI won't give you a result... put a ' in as the prompt... weirdly, it works here too in midjourney.. Click on the 'edit prompt' button and just put in a period... "." it'll then work with images that don't have a text prompt with the,

Hi! Thanks for the update. For me so far after generating over 40k images (not quite your 68k, hehe), I've noticed that the MidJourney website still doesn't have the most basic 'delete file' feature. Imagine that 30k of my 40k images aren't quite right or are just unwanted. Hiding 30k images on the website is already a chore, but unhiding them? That's when things really get crazy, haha! Deleting them via Discord? Well, that might take me three months, copying IDs from the website and deleting them one by one. Sounds like a nightmare, right? 😂 Oh, another weird thing is the 'selection' feature? Honestly, I can't tell much difference when selecting 20 images over 100 images. In 'Light mode,' I can at least see a faint pink highlight when selecting, but in 'Dark mode'? I can't see a thing! Anyway, I'm using Chrome on my MacBook Air, and I'm not sure if others are having the same issues, but my 40k images (in folders) are becoming a hot mess. I can't even imagine how you manage with your 68k images, lol!

My pictures load fine on the website for sure but I agree there are some readability issues. And unfortunately, I don't think we'll ever get the option to delete images lol they've been open about being against that as a philosophy

I hate the update. Editor doesn't work as well as the lasso tool did when adding to an image, if anything editor wants to work more as a removal/fill in function. Adding to prompted images used to be so much easier with the lasso tool but now it feels impossible and it is incredibly frustrating. Anyways thank you for your helpful video. I hope MJ fixes this issue

Why doesn't inpainting work for me? I follow your instructions, I make a 16:9 image of a gated community, I erase the middle 1/2 and change the prompt to "guard tower with machine guns" and I get nothing. Maybe a small change to the lines in the road, but no authoritarian HOA monument. How do I find out what I'm doing wrong?

Unfortunately, InPainting is just a frustrating feature. Inserting something is much more difficult than swapping, there is no real magic trick that works in every situation. I'd suggest playing around with the prompt and consider how you could write it in different ways. Good luck!

Have you run into any issues where Midjourney appears to totally ignore the prompt? I have an image of a magical book floating in a whimsical courtyard. I am trying to pan out and add a group of teens gathered around to watch. Midjourney totally ignores adding the teens and only pans out the image...

Yah Panning doesn't work the way you think it does - it definitely just adds 'more' of the image - they changed how the algorithm works a while ago

The word erase confuses me. It doesn't actually erase, right. Instead you use the erase tool to paint in an area. So wouldn't inpainting be a better name than erase? The area you painted, will be filled in by midjourney based on the change you made to the prompt. If this correct, why the heck did Midjourney call it erase. I can't wrap my mind around it. Speaking of erase. Is there actually a way to remove an object without replacing it. As usual...great video....hopefully we see more videos on the editor as you discover some tips and tricks.

The lingo can definitely get a little confusing - and to remove an object, you should try editing the prompt as well! (sorry for the vague advice, you'll just have to play around with it)

Do you know how to get rid of an object, what prompt should I use? For ex, if I have a vase on a table but I don't like it, I just want the table, what should I write?

Inpaint over the vase and the area around it, then rewrite the prompt without mentioning the vase or anything similar like, "plain table in front of plain wall". Use "--no vase, flowers" etc to remove everything you don't want. Use "--style raw --s 0" to remove MJs influence as much as possible. Hope that helps.
