Interesting video and as a returner to the CB and ham bands, it's nice to see this type of app for CB. I'll have a deeper dive into this subject, thanks for the introduction to the new develpoments.

Cb talk is very useful application in Europa. A lot of international transport-drivers using it ro help each other and i use it when driving from Europe to Turkey. It is also funny to make contact with other people as you.

The bluetooth bit for the radio looks like a kenwood style socket the baofeng uv5r has the same socket for a mic I wonder if I would work with the uv5r??

Maybe, never tried it. I don't have a UV5R handy or I'd give it a go.

tried this app a bit however after a couple of days it seems to freeze up with a message about enabling gps.......which hasn't been disabled or restricted and I have to uninstall and reinstall to get it back working again....bit of a PITA....so kinda giving up on it a bit now

Hi Shaun. It sounds like a permissions issue. You might want to check whether the application permission for "Location" is enabled (at least to While Using the App). Alternatively, take a look at Zello - another VOIP app.

Great video but can the CB talk app actually talk to real CB radios like your Midland 20 ?? Or can it only talk to other app users

How did you get 80 channels

Hi David. The app has 80 channels available. The radio does too as it has UK40 and CEPT bands.

You have to get the dual mic to access 80 channels in the app. You only have 40 channels and you’re limited to 100 on the squelch unless you have the dual mic. I’ve only been using the app for a few days now and the people on there are very helpful and can answer all of your questions.

that distance squelch....seems the max is 100 miles.....can you not just talk to anybody worldwide?

Hi Shaun. It looks like it's now been increased to 200Km. Not sure if the squelch range applies to groups.
