@@XMan2001XI feel like I oughta point out that she had acquired the Fused Shadows by then; they could’ve been enhancing her power at that point. I figure what went on here is what someone else suggested: she had to use her hair’s strength and powers to fend off enemies while she struggled to get Link to safety. One other point is, technically, if this happened at Lakebed Temple, she wasn’t infused by Zelda’s light yet, so she’d have been less powerful, technically a shadow. The struggle for her may have been to force her power to give her substance while she dragged him to safety.

Imagine the hate Midna was burdened with. Born a prisoner for the sins of her ancestors. Sure she's a princess, but that just means she's the best dressed prisoner. Her family is killed and her kingdom is ruined by a madman who disfigures her for no reason, using power given to him by a monster her jailers flushed into her dimension because they couldn't kill it Then she's exiled to the world of Light that caused so much trouble, only to find it alien and hostile. Even the sunlight is dangerous. The world that ruined hers is actively trying to kill her half the time. Then she met someone who is going through the same stuff she is. Grief. Loss. Polymorphization. And she's still so hurt all she can do is be cruel to him to make herself feel strong again. All of that sounds like the origin story of a villain. Yet Midna was able to get past all that hate and find love. Love for Link, love for Zelda, and love for the world of Light that she hated so much

I swear, almost no one ,maybe a couple in each game collectivley, has as much character development in the games as Midna. when we first meet her she's cold and pretty distant and admittedley kinda annoying. But as we continue on the quest we definetley start to learn more about her and get to know her as a person and why she is the way she is, and all I can say to that is damn if that isnt perfectly personified in this comic , with amazing VA talent by the way, I dont know what would show it.

man I can't stop watching this I started playing twilight princess again just to get to the room in lakebed temple where this scene takes place. from a fanfiction published in 2010 periodically updated and edited all the way up to 2020, to jojo's comic that breathed new life into it through another medium, and finally this narration; this is fandom at its best.

This actually happened to me. My friend and I were swimming in a pretty lonely lake ( legally) there were others but only a few. So we decide to check who can dive longer. After some time I get to the surface and wait for my friend. She is insanely good at stuff like that so I didn’t worry at first but then it was to long even for her and I got worried. I searched for her and she was just… there. I was really scared that day. She’s fine now but it’s an experience you don’t want to have in both ways.

Just got done reading the fanfic this is from, took me 3 days. I am...utterly amazed. It has been so long since I have been so absorbed into a story like that. My first day off of work since I started reading and that was all I did. Woke up, ate, read, did some errands, came back and read more. Finished at about 2am. About to start the sequal because I literally cannot get enough. The story is well over 10 years old now but it is written beautifully and to write out the whole adventure no less? I've done some roleplaying in the past with my best friend where we redid the game but with our characters and with a bit diferent interactions. It took us I think 2 years to finish it. It was exhausting. I hope this person realizes just how much more life and honestly, realisim they bought to the story. In the game, Link can go through and whole temple and not be phased or really injured, because it's a video game. But in a story, so much more can happen. He's getting seriously injured in some of these written temples and even understanding the mental toll the adventure is taking on him is heartbreaking. I hope whoever finds this video will take the time to read through the fanfic, it is something else. I stumbled upon this by looking at TotK memes and now I haven't touched the game in two days thanks to the fanfic lol.

I remember reading this scene over a decade ago. This scene easily made the Lakebed Temple arc of the story such a unique and probably my favorite arc of the entire story. While I did not like the way the ending of the story carried out, this was easily probably one of the best written pieces of literature that paid a tribute to my favorite video game series I have ever read. So glad this scene, of anything that could have been picked, was put out into this.

You misunderstand, Midna genuinely holds the world of light and its inhabitants, including Link, in absolute contempt. It’s around the end of the Goron Mines when she starts coming around. After they retrieve the Master Sword, you can tell Midna’s catching feelings for her boy. More importantly, she realizes this too. And she doesn’t try to hide it in any way whatsoever. The looks they give each other on occasion make that very clear. Tsunderes try to hide their feelings through violence and insults, Midna makes her feelings very well known. Therefore, she can’t be a tsundere.

It's called "Our Childern Taken" from the games soundtrack, and can only be heard if you go back to Ordon village before finding the kids. The whole thing is really touching and sad, and (personally) does a lot to impress the responsibility put on Link and his connection to the world
