Oh Bonnie.. You have no idea how much that last part means to me.. I haven't been able to sleep and cried every night because I felt like a failure when my kids were sick.. When you said the word "annoyed" I felt like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders.. Like wow, I'm not the only mother that experiences this.. And I too have no idea how single parents do it.. Just know that you're an amazing mother and human being.. 💜💜💜

@@mugginsquilts1 there were times I felt disgusted with myself "how can you feel annoyed while that helpless little being can't communicate what it's feeling" just because things didn't go as planned.. There were times I was annoyed with other parents for sending their sick children to school, because if you have multiples you know, if one gets sick, all of them get sick.. With zero support around you, staying home and taking care of your children while your husband works his butt off to provide for you and my children puts this immense pressure and guilt on you "all you have to do is take care of the children and the house right? Why can't you even do that?" Ugh.. My daily mantra is "this too shall pass. Nothing's here to stay" and a video like this helps me get through a day..

I started crying when you sing to Lincoln while you cuddle him because it reminded me so much of my mama, who would do anything for us, to make sure her children are okay and comfortable. and she's going through something right now and it makes me so sad that i cant be of any help. I love her so much i wish i can give the world to her

Hi Bonnie. Thought you might get a good laugh out of this. When my daughter was 5 I took her to emergency and the doctor diagnosed her with croup as we were leaving I told her to say goodbye to him and she said “goodbye Dr. Phil”. One of the ladies sitting waiting to be seen was laughing so hard.

I just love you Bonnie! I have felt the same when my kids have been sick and felt terrible for feeling that way. Now that I have 3 I have became much more sympathetic. Thank you Bonnie! I needed to hear that! Let me just clarify, I am NOT a single mother, but my husband is deployed with the military overseas, so I feel like I’ve been a single mother for the last 6 months. It has been so hard transitioning from having my supportive husband here by my side to zero help on the home front. I will say my family is supportive and helps when they can. But it is so dang hard to work full time, be a mother, plus take over my husband’s duties at home as well. We are half way through this deployment, hallelujah! Hope Lincoln man feels better soon! Prayers for him and mom and dad as well! Love you all!

I can SO relate to the very end of your vlog! As a young mom I was exactly like you said, more annoyed and then felt guilty. My two kids are nine years apart and my parenting style was completely different with the second. I realized how fast the time goes and relaxed more and more as I went along. Not to say I wasn't still strict and "on it" I just got wiser about picking my battles, and used my sense of humor a LOT more the second time around. Like you said, we are all doing the best we can and go through seasons of parenting. I am a grandmom now and am STILL learning along the way! I enjoy watching you (and Ellie) raise your kids, and admire your transparency, keep up the good work!

My 3 year old boy suffers croup flair ups. The first time it happened I called an ambulance cause it was so scary. But OMG... $400 ER visit? What on earth? Is that how much health care costs in the US? If you go to the ER in Australia, it’s free. Hope it’s just a once off xx
@loislyons3724
@loislyons3724 5 жыл бұрын
If you have health insurance, you pay a $10-$20 copay fee per visit, and the insurance covers the rest. If you live in a country with NHS, you are basically paying for healthcare through your tax system. There really is no such thing as "free" healthcare.
@Karijones14
@Karijones14 5 жыл бұрын
it can be more expensive depending on the test done, if there was an ambulance visit etc. that's why the healthcare debate is such a big one over here.
@mkrier13

I thought that sounded cheap! My daughter has asthma and we have made multiple ER trips this year. Each visit was well over $1000. It's super frustrating.
@mindeewaranka3625

The health care in the US is a bunch of BS. I had a surgery done in Aug and the hospital charged my insurance $25,000 just for me to stay. Not including the surgery, medications, supplies, etc. And then I had a complication and ended up staying 21 days in the hospital. 21 days times $25k is $525,000. JUST to stay the night. I had 2 more surgeries in those 3 weeks so I am curious to know the total for that 3 week stay.....

Wow Bonnie! Thank You so so so much for sharing your heart on the mommy sick blues! I always love when you do these little heartfelt moments! Thank You for sharing truth and letting all of us mamas know that we aren't alone! We have three little boys seven and twin four year olds. I can remember when we first had our twins, my oldest was not even three. Whenever we had those midnight sick wake-ups, I was already sleep deprived from my newborn twins, and I can relate to your story. Thank You for being you Bonnie and serving the truths of this beautiful, wonderful, crazy life! You are a huge inspiration to me as a mother and a big part of why I started vlogging and doing youtube years ago! Love you friend! :)

Feel better soon buddy! Hope everyone gets some rest. Take good care. I can complete relate to your “confession”. It’s 5am here and I have been up since 2am because my 9 year old had insomnia last night. We seized the opportunity for cuddles: getting angry or frustrated won’t help anyone in that situation. What a blessing, my 9 year old just wanted/needed some cuddles. :)

This is why I love you guys! Bonnie you are so REAL and it's so true that with each season of motherhood it's very different. I was the exact same way when it came to kids being sick. It wasn't until just recently that I have seen a change in myself with the way I react to it now. I'm 36 and and being in my 30's, I had my 4th son at 32, I noticed how different it is parenting than when I was in my 20's parenting my first 3 sons. Also I totally teared up when you were talking to Lincoln when he got home from the ER and how you were telling him how he has a great daddy. Joel is such a great dad and a wonderful husband to you Bonnie. You have been blessed with such a beautiful kind family. Hugs and love

I’m sure Joel was taking care of the business and the other kids during this day, but my favorite part of this was how you both drop everything for Lincoln. Obviously y’all work from home (my husband works) but I’m a stay at home mom too and I’m so grateful that when my daughter is sick I can just cancel any plans we have to accommodate her without feeling bad about missing work. There are so many blessings about working from home. Love you all. Thank you for another great video.

Oh poor Lincoln! My son had croup too when he was little. So many nights we sat with him fully dressed outside in the snow just to make him breathe good. Or laying under an open window under 15 blankets in the wintertime. Its rough but thankfully it goes away as they get older.

When kids have croup lots of cold things (ice cream , ice pops, frozen jello , frozen pudding, etc) also have them drink garlic broth (boil 5 cloves of garlic in half a gallon of water for 20 mins) drink as much as they can. It kills the croup, strep bacteria.. You can add honey to it as well to sweetin it up a bit. Hope this helps And no one else gets croup.

Hi Bonnie . First of all I hope your Lincoln feels a bit better soon . You are a brilliant mummy to all your children, I was once a single mummy many years ago my first born son was 5 and my second son was 12months old my ex kept the house and all contents we were homeless no place to go so hard physically and mentally draining but we came out better and stronger. Anyway back to you , I love how you get so involved with the kids as many parents don’t . And ice cream for breakfast he’ll yes if it’s what helps his throat that’s all that matters . Ok Bonnie take care xxx

THANK YOU for sharing that!! I am a full time working mom with a full time working husband and a sick 20 month old that has croup and got a second round of steroids within a week...whether it's croup or sleep regression, she has been a terrible sleeper and it has just been HARD lately. Thank you for recognizing there are seasons and we're just doing the best we can do because that's all we've got sometimes :) Mamas need to hear that sometimes!

I hope you feel better soon Lincoln. Bonnie I was a single parent to two daughters. My eldest is about to get married in a couple of months. My youngest has moved out with her partner. When my daughters were living with me it was very hard, but I pushed through every day. Both of my daughters are now in their 20's
