A short story about two college students that become wrapped up in the theories of an old man that walks around in their neighbourhood.
This story was published in The New Yorker in 2009.
You can read the story here: www.newyorker....
I really enjoy DeLillo's writing and find it to give me the closest feeling to David Foster Wallace's writing, though ultimately it is David Foster Wallace that feels like DeLillo.
Let me know if there is something you'd like to hear next.

I feel like I need to take Ilgauskus's philosophy class to even begin to grasp wtf this story meant.

Your reading is fantastic! Thank you 🙏 love this one. Always been a hugggge DeLillo fan, I'm too stupid for Pynchon and I'm too full of myself to enjoy DFW. But DeLillo really hits the spot for me - though I can usually only read/ listen for a few pages at a time. He gets so in my head 😅 it's a bit unnerving realizing how predictable I am because we share this American blood.

Thank you! Love this short story. I’ve listened to a bunch of your DFW uploads without realizing they were all from you, lol😂 I’m subscribed now and I’m looking forward to more from DFW, Delillo and maybe some Pynchon (🙏?). Great voice❤

Excellent! Any chance you would record DFW's "Greatly Exaggerated" at some point?
