✨🌑 Midnight MacBook Air Unboxing [M2] + customizing / setup & review!

Hello Friends!!
Today I am so thankful and blessed to be unboxing the new 2022 Macbook Air M2! I hope you guys enjoy this video, and of course, if you did, please remember to leave a like and subscribe, and comment what your favorite color of the new macbooks this year are!
During editing of this video, it did hear ever so slightly, which in comparison to my previous MacBook Air, is an extreme improvement!
After viewing unboxings of the Starlight MacBook Air, I do kind of wish I would've gone with one of those, but after I've unboxed my midnight MacBook Air and had some time to use it for awhile, I'm honestly glad I went with the midnight! It does get fingerprints easily, however in most lighting conditions, the fingerprints are hardly noticeable!!

@@craigjackson9063 I actually cut the portion out of the video, but I also said honestly the fingerprints aren’t even noticeable after a few seconds of working on it haha! Good choice, midnight is honestly so gorgeous and blends seamlessly with the bezels and keyboard!

I was going towards the midnight color, but those fingerprints will really bother me. So I decided to go towards the starlight color. I am just waiting for mine to come in. It should be here in August. I really can’t wait.

Once I saw other unboxings of the starlight I wish I would have gotten that color, but tbh the lighting is not always the best where I live so it’s dark enough I don’t see the fingerprints lol, but if I could go back I probably would’ve gone starlight too! Did you order it in starlight? I bet you’re so excited, I know I was on apple every day updating the tracking 😂😂

For me I chose the midnight Color even if it takes some fingerprints because it’s sooo beautiful and I also took 512gb of storage then 16 gb of unified memory because I need some great power. Thanks for the unboxing and review!

Thank you! And now that I’ve had it for a few months and taking it with me to school, it is such a perfect color!! I was scared of fingerprints at first, but it’s just so perfect! Great choice for sure 😃😃

I got the MacBook Air M2 midnight 24 gb of ram and 2TB of storage which will come July 29th! I recommend getting a micro fiber cloth for the midnight it handles the finger prints well!

Thank you so much! I actually ordered 5 minutes after pre orders opened up on the 8th and it was delayed a day in China then a late delivery on the 21st, so I should’ve had it by the 20th, but apple estimated 18-25th then delayed 26th-2nd, so it was all over the place originally lol! But fingers crossed it’ll ship within a week!! That’s so exciting, and you’re going to absolutely love it!!

I was the exact same way before I got the laptop in person! It blends seamlessly to the bezels and keyboard that the other colors aren’t able to do. I hope you will fall in love with it once you get it, I definitely did!!

@@Loreyna32 it definitely is dark, but it’s hard to gauge the exact way it looks in person on camera just because the lighting… I like the dark of it because it is seamless with the bezels and keyboard better than the lighter ones if that makes you feel better!

Well I actually got the m1 iMac as a kind of “push” for me to start making KZbin videos, and after I started, I was splitting the work (along with my school work) between that and my old MacBook, I just needed to upgrade, and I am so thankful that I was able to purchase this!

@@BreannaBarnett Oh that’s nice! This is really going to be a worthy upgrade as the M2 Air is super fast and can handle any task easily. But sadly you might get some overheating issues after longer usage as the Air doesn’t feature a cooling fan. The M2 Pro has an old design but it does have an active cooling system.

@@GadgetsArise I’m definitely impressed so far with the speed and video rendering speed vs my mid 2019 MacBook Air! Even the iMac isn’t as fast which is just mind blowing! I did notice while uploading this video on the MacBook, it did heat ever so slightly but it was nothing compared to the other MacBook, so I’ll definitely have to keep my eye on that! But editing was such a breeze!!

What is the best color? Its such a bummer that the Midnight is a fingerprint magnet else I’ll get it. Would you recommend a skin to cover the lid to prevent smudges?

I actually posted an update to the MacBook in my apple collection video, and I kind of demonstrate the fingerprints! They are way less noticeable as time goes on, I recommend checking that out because it’s been about 3 weeks since cleaning off the fingerprints and they are hardly as noticeable! I love the midnight, and honestly I’ll probably get a clear case when I return to campus, but a skin may also help as well!!

@@darrenccw well the apple store will clean their products daily just for sanitary purposes, so it really is hard to gauge for sure… but for me it has been way less noticeable!

I might also regret ordering midnight and i also called Apple customer care and they can’t make changes I wish if I ordered starlight because i am worried about fingerprint smudges and scratches

I’m so sorry you’re having second thoughts… they are easy to remove with a damp cloth, but honestly outside of one of the ports, scratches aren’t an issue thankfully! I’m really sorry you’re having second thoughts though… if it makes you feel any better, the midnight is the most seamless when it comes to bezels and the keyboard pretty similarly to the MacBook pros! The other colors would have a contrast, but I’m not sure if this makes you feel any better though 😢

Thanks for making this video! I'm still torn between Midnight and Starlight -- love the look of Midnight, but scared to accidentally scratch it, especially by the ports. Have you noticed any wear and tear from daily use?

Of course! I’m glad you enjoyed!! I definitely get that, I have a slight scratch inside one of the ports and I don’t use it often, so that’s but of a bummer… midnight is so unique and it’s very small so it’s not standing out unless you really look for it, so it’s not a a big deal for me, but it is something to consider… other than that it’s perfect and am so happy with it 😍

Starlight is such a gorgeous color as well, and it definitely won’t have very noticeable scuffs that the midnight would, so if that’s a concern I for sure would go the safer route, sometimes I wish I would’ve gone starlight but I’m just so thankful I have a laptop again and both colors are such gorgeous unique colors!!

Trying to decide between midnight and starlight, I ordered midnight like 2 weeks ago but it hasn’t arrived yet and thinking of switching it because of the finger prints and scratches what are your thoughts on the colors?

I really wish I would’ve gone with starlight, but that being said I really do love the midnight color! It’s so seamless with the keyboard and bezels due to almost looking black! There’s no scratches I’ve noticed on the body except for the port there’s a tiny scratch in it. I wish I would’ve gotten the gold color but I still love the midnight for myself and having it here with me, I wouldn’t exchange it!

I do have a good amount of fingerprints on it, but in a weird way, the longer I go without cleaning them off, I guess it’s just from accumulation of just the oils from my hand, but the fingerprints aren’t as noticeable. Also, one thing to consider is in this video in particular, I did have a ring light shining right on it to help with lighting, so they’re definitely going to be way more noticeable with direct light, however in just normal lighting situations, they really aren’t that noticeable! I am going to get a clear case once they become available on Amazon to protect and also prevent as much fingerprints

I won’t lie and say it’s not a fingerprint magnet, but after a couple days of use I honestly don’t even notice them! The only scratch issue I have is inside the port to upload footage to my computer, and it has a tiny scratch on the inside, but as far as the body there’s no scratches! I also kind of wish I would’ve gone with starlight, but I love the uniqueness of the midnight that the others don’t have, but that’s just my take on it… both are very beautiful and can’t go wrong with either! Once cases start coming out, I’m going to order a clear case to help with the fingerprint issue while also keeping the color 😍
