I felt it was a little overlooked upon its release, but now hopefully more people can experience it. When it comes to the lost pregnancy, I think the most probable scenario is that the blood healed her body, and treated the foetus as a parasite (it is completely dependant on the pregnant person’s body, drains all its nutrients from them, but is a separate entity), and just absorbed it completely. It’s a horrifying thought, and every wanted pregnancy lost is a tragedy in itself.

When people talk about how Mike Flanagan is a master of monologues and he’s particularly known for them, this is the first episode that comes to mind. That scene where they are talking about death. I grew up thinking like her and now I think like him and it was captured SO well

i am obsessed with those death monologues, its kind of comforting to see people talk about death so freely like that. you guys are so sweet i love seeing how comforting cody is being for sergio. I too think about death a lot and shows like this can be overwhelmingly emotional sometimes. You're both handling it very well and just know sergio that even when your gone you have left a mark on so many lives that you will always be loved and remembered, but we're a long way from that so just keep living and enjoying this life with cody❤
@lunacouer8 ай бұрын
Sergio, if it makes you feel any better, I bawled during Riley and Erin's scene when they're talking about what happens after death. We're talking full-on, snot-filled, stuttered-breath ugly cry, lol. This is the kind of thing that keeps me up at night too lol, so it hit a sore-spot that I didn't even realize was so sore, if that makes sense. But also, since it was so beautiful and hopeful, tears turned into a full-on weeping session. It ended up being a welcome catharsis. We love your heart. You cry all you want 💖

The discussion between Riley and Erin made me cry so much (AND while I was at work LOL oops), for the exact same reasons as Sergio. Never apologize for crying also, especially not with this show. It's definitely a suckerpunch to the heart hahahah

What I like about this show is the parallels between vampires drinking blood and the blood of Christ in communion. The action of cannibalism as the ultimate act of devotion and love, and by devouring, the characters will find what they are looking for. Also, love the scene when they talk about death in a town slowly turning into immortal creatures.

Erin's dove story is the sadder version of that one fairly odd parents joke: Timmy's dad: my dreams were shattered years ago. Timmy: how many years ago? Timmy's dad: how old are you?

i think flanagan does such a great job of giving emotional hits amongst the horror and eerie feelings, he does it with every show, Lenore in Fall of the House of Usher, he does it in Bly Manor, he does it in Haunting of Hill House, (trying not to get too specific lol they gotta watch em all) but he does SUCH a good job of just, emotionally destroying you and then horrifying you. love love LOVE his work, i also recommend watching Hush if you haven't already!
@aychelleff8 ай бұрын
Something incredible about this series, looking back, is that you just implicitly **know** that Riley will never be able to live this lie with Pruitt. We know so little of him except his grief and wary, newfound appreciation for life. He could never feed off the life of someone else, he already feels like that’s his entire existence and he hates it. Plus we have last episodes conversation between the two of them - Riley knows that miracles don’t come so easy. Obviously he’s never going to be able to go through this life, and he’s never going to be able to do what Pruitt did to Joe

I relate completely to you, Sergio (sorry if I spelled that wrong) I used to have panic attacks multiple times a week just thinking about what could happen after death. It mainly started around 18 when I left the church. So it was like a "If that's not what happens after death where do I go??" And the idea of just ceasing to exist is beyond terrifying to me. I really wish there was just a clear answer of where we go. So yeah....I definitely relate 😅

This show was recommended to me by an ex-bestie who was raised in the cult of Jehovah. I am a survivor of the Catholic cult and this show truly solidified how dangerous organized religion/**cults** can be. It was really triggering for me when I watched Leeza's character be healed from "religion" because I've literally been to religios "healers" and watched my family get scammed by people who abuse religion. All that being said, fuck Bev.

I’m sure you’ve all been told a thousand times by now, **no spoilers of anything** but just in case…in Flanagan’s movie RUSH starring his fab wife Kate Segal, her character is writing “Midnight Mass”.
