In preparation for their ‘Makarrata Live Tour’, Midnight Oil performed an intimate show at the newly renovated Enmore Theatre in Sydney. The Makarrata Project was played in its entirety, accompanied by several well known First Nation performers - Dan Sultan, Alice Skye, Troy Cassar-Daley, Tasman Keith and Leah Flanagan. As well, the new bass player, Adam Ventoura, was on show for his first official performance with the band. As is only natural with a warm-up show after a long break, there were a number of minor blips. But in my opinion these only added to the overall fun of the night. Here is a selection of songs from the two and a half hours set:
Lucky Country (00:20)
If Ned Kelly Was King (05:17)
Dreamworld (10:38)
Gadigal Land (16:38)
Desert Man, Desert Woman (21:27)
Wind In My Head (24:30)
Gunbarrel Highway (29:07)
Luritja Way (34:01)
Kosciusko (38:18)
Beds Are Burning (43:26)
