This could be a Telltale Games product where it could be an anthology where the UN reporter is the starting narrator going over his stories and each volume is one of the characters story.

The person I feel the most sorry for in all of this is Max Brooks. He did a huge amount of work on "World War Z" and "Zombie Survival Guide" and it's all wasted on this shitty Brad Pitt vehicle. Seriously, every single thing in his book would have improved this movie and none of it is used. Whatever Max got paid by the studio, it wasn't nearly enough.

Full agreement on the best way to adapt the World War Z book would be a miniseries documentary. I haven't seen the WWZ movie, so I can't comment on it, but I heard that it was an awful adaptation of the book.

+Kyman102 or maybe just take one story and do a full lenght movie of just that story

+Kyman102 The only thing they take from the book is Zombies and the title.

Riley Ann Barnitz Not even the same kind of Zombies. Max Brooks is quite vocal in his dislike of fast running zombies, and the ones in WWZ were shambling Zombies.

My god, Brad. Everybody I know either liked or loved this film, but it infuriated me because of how much it strayed from the novel.

+Tate Gibbs IKR The movie could have just as easily been called "Just another Zombie Movie"
@statykelektricity95919 жыл бұрын
You say strayed as if it accidentally walked off a path. How this movie handled things, it's more like it ran away from the path, ran to the nearest airport and caught a flight to the moon.

+Tate Gibbs I think the only way you can truly do the book justice is to make A TV show adaption.

Personally a type of zombie I can't stand is when it is tried to be explained scientifically. There are so many reasons why a rotten corpse couldn't walk around that it should either be left without explanation like in Romero's original movies or just plain black magic. Or slightly tongue in cheek like in Reanimator.

Wish they stuck to the book in terms of story structure of having an anthology set up even if it's got one solid through line
@IzayaV9 жыл бұрын
How ironic I totally disagree, slow zombies are incredibly underwhelming and not at all frightening where as a fast zombie, something that can easily catch me, is way scarier. The thought of being chased is scary by itself! Though I hated how CG and horrible the zombies were portrayed in this film, they were mindless stacking very PG zombies in waves.

I was ready to shut off the blu-ray after 10 minutes. I didn't care at all about this zombie apocalypse. No build up at all. It just starts. One of Brad Pitt's worst films.
@petewadesays129 жыл бұрын
I'm sure it was a decent The Walking Dead episode Except it wasn't supposed to be at all. The book would have made a better movie- but FUCK IT right? WE LOVE MONEY
@murciadoxial80569 жыл бұрын
world war z is the only movie that has got me to walk out of the theater mid way, the absolute terrible adaptation of the book was too much for me to endure, then i watched it from beginning to end, it was pointless, dull, uninteresting, but not as bad as it could have been
@Thomas-VA6 жыл бұрын
Well, with international grosses, no not quite bombed, and probably see 2 in a year or so. So remember, domestic totals don't mean a thing if it's good that international zing . . there's something about these frenetic movies

15:55 I think the best scare of a zombie is the psychological side. The concept alone is disturbing and image of a walking pile of rotting meat is horrible. Especially if it would be someone you knew. And yeah who would want to be that. But that's kinda something many zombie movies don't realize. Zombies are really very pathetic creatures. Also a reason why zombies could never take over the world because we living humans are way too good at killing things. I hope it was smarter in the book but in the movie what bothers me is why would the zombies care if the host is healthy or not seen that they don't seem to mind that their heart is stopped and all, you know being the living dead.

This wasn't even an adaptation. It was the exploitation of the title of a pretty brilliant novel. Except it wasn't done by Kubrick.

Work war z was Such a let down bc I was a fan of the book, as a run of the mill zombie movie it was ok. They should've done a cross between band of brothers and Ken burns. Have the older person start the narrative then let the younger version play out the scene. And Morgan freeman narrate bc why the fuck not
@SuperMutant20999 жыл бұрын
It was good movie but bad adaption. I do agree about the documentary style or even like american horror style show where each season focus on different part of war.
@toomanyaccounts8 жыл бұрын
its not a good movie when the universe is populated by retards. how the fuck would these zombies know if someone had a terminal illness or any illness what so ever and why would it matter wheter they could be a host or not? a virus doesn't give a shit wheter you have a terminal condition. in the real world the fact that certain people were not being attacked and the reason why would be discovered within days even in India where they said this zombie plaque started two years before hand.

I fell asleep each time I tried to watch it. It looked awful. And it was rated PG-13. And it had Zoombies in it.
@JohnBlack23458 жыл бұрын
that was one film that is a waste of celluloid. no characterization, no dept, half ass writing that would start to let you get into the story until it yanked you somewhere else.....extremely decent.

This movie is so overrated. It is not that good. The CGI is a bit much and IT IS NOT EVEN RATED R!! You want to make a ground breaking Zombie flick. Go for the R rating first.
