I just watched this Midnight Screening since I came out of "Pixels" a few hours ago. I agree, it was more bad than good but not painfully horrible. And Adam Sandler's character and Brad were NOT the only ones wondering about Q-Bert in the end ;) But to be honest, I wasn't expecting a great movie, it was nice to sit through this once in the theater but I wouldn't strongly recommend it either, also not to arcade game fans. I'd easily rather stick to "Wreck-it-Ralph". It was really good and relaxing again listening to you :) P.S.: Thanks to you I now know that "Shaun the Sheep" is coming now to the US. I already saw it in April and I enjoyed it pretty much. Give it a watch! I'm looking forward to this movie's MS then.

I've heard a lot of bad things about this movie. this is the most fair review I've heard. also idk about the trailers for dracula untold, because I didn't know about that movie until I watched it, and while it's not the dracula the average movie person knows. as someone who KNOWS the history and mythos behind the real vlad. I think it was a cool blend of history and myth. maybe I should go watch the trailer so I know what brad was talking about...

Nice to see you giving it a real review rather than just jumping on the "I hate Adam Sandler" bandwagon. Happy Madison films, for the most part, have two modes... family comedy and stoner comedy. This probably started life as the latter, and would have been really funny in that vein. As it is, it's definitely a lot better than most will give it credit for... much like Joysticks. (But seriously watch Joysticks)

2 years 2 late, but.... This was one of the better reviews for PIXELS I've seen. Imho, PIXELS is one of those "potential movies". Potential to be something fun and interesting but just fails to impress. Good concept, Good visuals, Good character design... Bad writing, Bad jokes, Bad everything else. I still say that this was the "better-worst" Adam Sandler movie I've ever watched. (and that doesn't say much)

I pretty much went just for the action scenes, which were basically no longer than they appear in the trailers, and the relatively creative cast, but they were mostly obnoxious. Gad was a little creepy and Dinklage got a couple of good lines, but that's about it. I did like some of the self-referential humor.

I just got back from Pixels. What I can tell you is this: It's not good, but I didn't hate it like everyone else did. From what I've heard from every review I've read, they were pretty harsh on harsh on it. I'd say the positives are visual effects and when the video games are attacking. Everyone in their reviews have immaturely disregard the action sequences and the visual effects due to them being in an Adam Sandler movie. Plus there are cool cameos by a lot of 80's property. But the negatives are it's still an Adam Sandler movie with jokes that don't work and it doesn't know what it want to be. There are times where it's tries to have kid friend moment, but then it turns into a adult joke. I'd say your better off renting it at RedBox and skip to the action scenes. So yeah, it's a rental. It wasn't good, I wasn't mad like everyone else did.

Sandler should just quit live action movies, or at least not do movies he does more than just act. Other people writing and directing him actually do something interesting with him. Him as a voice actor is actually pretty good, just as long as he isn't the main person involved in the writing and directing of it .... At this point he should mainly be a producer for other people's movies, making the occasional cameo, and being a voice actor. He needs to take a long break from being the main star of any live action movie. Cleanse the pallet of Hollywood of his foul flavor.

I hated this movie so damn much. The characters were annoying, it made little to no sense in terms of why some the characters were acting the way they were, i chuckled a couple times but for the most part it wasnt funny. Kevin James is president: BULLSHIT!!!! Sandler was annoying, the fucking pervert side character was creepy and weird and wholly unnecessary, and it's a sad day when you can say that Peter Dinklage was the worst thing about your movie, which by the dead he is the worst thing in this movie. And i dont hate it because it's a Sandler movie. I like some Sandler movies, especially his early stuff. Big Daddy, Happy Gilmore, and 50 First Dates are great movies. Even Little Nicky and That's My Boy i give begrudging passes to (mostly for the soundtracks, im a sucker for a great soundtrack). I hate this movie because it was shit. One good thing i'll say for it was the CGI looked pretty decent. The way the pixels were animated and the way they moved was pretty cool to watch.
