Very nice wire body, Hans. I will try this with some copper wire and ginger hackle - since I have these on hand. The sink should help get through the gauntlet of small bluegill and down to the deeper fish.

Very nice Hans, I particularly like that it's designed to present under the surface without additional weight.

Nice tye Hans, what part of the skin are you pulling that feather from? I love Starling as a material but would be hard pressed to get more than two turns of hackle from the skin I have on a hook that size.

Steve, Feather is taken from the lower back of the starling pelt. There are feathers on the pelt of an adult starling with adequate barb length to even do #8 hooks. Cheers, Hans W

Hello Hans, Is the "Ultra-wire, fine, black" the small or ex-small size? I've been missing your tying videos... hoping you find a way to make time for more. For now, I've started at the back and am working my way through the existing videos again. It's amazing how much there is to pick up on the re view. Mike

Hello Hans, I have tied a fly similar to this, but I have some trouble sometimes coming back up with the rib because the underwire allows a turn to go down in between. I have taken to using superglue on the first layer and then tying the rib afterwards. Have you ever had this trouble? It is probably a novice problem but I thought I would ask anyway. All the best to you, Sean

Sean, Provided the body wraps are touching, there is no way the angled ribbing turns will have a slot to sink into. When you wrap the touching turns, angle the wire ever so slightly towards the eye, and _feel_ each turn slide off the side of the preceding wrap. That way you will avoid any gaps. Cheers, Hans W

Thanks Hans, You almost always know what I am doing incorrectly, I will try again and do as you suggest, Sean
