Thank you so much for this useful comparison between the Fsizes and A sizes! I am sad they discontinued the B6 slim cotton one it was my preferred size for art. I'm gonna buy the F0 see if my art magically improves 😉

I realise this video is 4 years old, but I was just on the midori website and it looks like they are re-releasing the old standard sizes they used to do (A5 and I think A6). I loved the A5 size and was sad when they stopped them so I guess I wasn't the only one!

I didn't know there was such a thing as F-size paper. I like the look of the F0 size and I love how flat it lays when open. Thanks for showing us these.

B5 is the bee's knees if you have bigger, more flowy handwriting. A5 ends up requiring a lot of line wrap, and A4 is humongous. My favorite B5 options are - Quo Vadis Habana (pseudo B5), Maruman, Rhodia Heritage (limited edition, discontinued), and Rhodiarama (190 x 250) (cultpens, not part of the US product line).

Nice run down of the sizes. I also "landscape" write in some of my skinnier journals. Good to know that the F sizes are good for "sketchy" stuff hahaha!

Yea.. that scene comparing various book sizes was oddly captivating for such a basic exercise.

@@hmj3784 haha! it was! I still have to do it mentally when I hear what size a journal is.

Since I noticed you can open MD notebooks at 360° I hardly use cover on them anymore (they get in the way in that case) so unconventional sizes are ok for me. If I want to protect the notebook I plastify the cover. Midori makes very satisfying papers to write and draw. This cotton paper is lovely to use.

Is there an F1? As always great review and education on notebook sizes. Thanks

Doesn’t appear to be, no.

I had to pony up some dough for a custom Gfeller cover. By the time I saw your video, there were no more A5 notebooks to be had or found. I’m switching to Nanami Seven Seas.

Hi there, do you feel like there is less shading with the cotton version?
@inkdependence3 ай бұрын
Maybe? I think it's a bit more absorbent than some other papers, and that will cut down on shading.

I kind of like that F0. See you in Baltimore!

I think the sailor Shikori pens are filled with sailor fountain pen inks!

I was on the Midori paper main site today and there was no indication they are doing away with the A(x) sizes. I've used Midori notebooks and hold them in high regard. Alas I use Apica more often because the CD15 are B5.

I think your camera was confused by those weird new sizes, lol.
