シャコンヌはクラシックギターの編曲で演奏するけど、Midoriのような荘厳な演奏には絶対ならない。 Midoriの弓が奏でる和音が、空から舞う秋の紅葉のように変幻自在で、色彩が無限に変化していくようで、 とても神聖な気持ちに誘われる。男性がバッハを演奏すると、もっと弦圧が強くなってしまうが、 Midoriのように軽快に演奏する方が、荘厳な音楽になることに驚かされる。 I play Chaconne arranged for the classical guitar, but I have never felt as so solemnly as Midori plays. The chords played by the Midori are like the autumn leaves flying from the sky, and the colors seem to change indefinitely and Invited by a very sacred feeling. When men play Bach, the string pressure becomes much stronger, but it is much better to play Bach lightly like Midori. I am amazed at the solemn music by listning her sound.

Cuentan que en su estreno en Alemania, los oyentes esperaban ya el último movimiento, pues los tres anteriores eran cortos, preparando esta maravilla. De varias interpretaciones esta dama nos entrega algo muy dificil sólo de expresar la dulzura que se percibe de su trabajo y arte. Hay varias versiones en violín y guitarra. Esta es super. I had a chance to stay during her practice session with other musicians. They really put me to shame when I heard them play just one line of the piece over again and again and again, perhaps around 20 times or more until they got the perfect idea out of the score!!!!! Inspiration!!!!!!

That would be the same with Anna Netrebko. Sorry, but: What pervert would ask for "more flaws"? I rather think she finds the right way of "withheld drama" to show the double impact this music has on a person: It is so beautiful that it will make you cry. "Soli Deo Gloria" is what Bach always noted on his compositions. What you hear is a prayer to (and very personal dialogue with) God, from both - Bach and Midori.

As regards "modern interpretation", her complete recording of Bach S & P is perhaps the best I've ever heard. As regards "authentic interpretation", I prefer Amandine Beyer.

Michael Brotherton the Bach sonatas and partitas are all about proving the violin is a polyphonic instrument. An amazing violinist can play both the solo line and accompaniment line. A piano accompaniment is totally contrary to the ambition of these pieces.
