Ben Jones for me was the best Sgt, handsome, good natured, respectful, polite. The right pair for Barnaby. I enjoyed him every time. But before I liked also Troy!

It always seemed to me that the writers intended to show us that Barnaby didn't like Troy all that much. Jones had a much more interesting face and was more likeable.

Jason Hughes as Jones sweeps the field. As a died in the wool fan I'd rate: Jones 100%, Troy 95%, Scott 80%, Nelson (was great till Kate Wilding left) 80%, and I can't rate Winter yet because I haven't seen any of the new episodes... but I just subscribed to BritBox and I'll soon find out!
