Great product, FN should have done someting like this at least as an option...

Great video, thank you for making this. There aren't many videos out there on this product, so thank you for all of the data and demonstrations. I have a 17s and am interested in the KNS diSCARder in order to prolong the life of it. Tame the bolt carrier speed. Thanks again, and cool setup. :)

Hi I wanted to upgrade my gas regulator to the KNS on my unsupressed SCAR17 and use the setting that you had used in this video with a 2MM gas control screw and setting 7 on the KNS, but I noticed your barrel length is not the factory 16inch like mine so I was wondering if I could still apply the same gas screw and KNS settings to get similar results with my SCAR17?

He uses a 2 in this video for balance. He said 2.5 for faster rate of fire.

Is that a 15P you’re shooitng? When I look up the specs on the discarder it’s says not compatible with 15p scar. I have a 15p suppressed and curious if adding this to my setup would work.

I’m running a 17 with stock 16” and surefire RC2. Would you swap out the jet with one of the ones provided or keep the original jet installed. Just received mine from you this week. Thank you

I would try it out with the stock jet, and see how the regulator does with adjusting it.

@madbroindustries Wondering the same thing - just got my Discarder and it came with 4 extra screws. Wondering if I should just leave the stock screw in and install the Discarder or if I need to use one of the provided screws with the discarder? This for a SCAR 20S with a Surefire RC2 762 suppressor.

dont know why this is being touted as revolutionary. Mototech has had a product exactly the same with multiple generation refinement for years now. Seems pretty unoriginal.
@HalcyonDefense Жыл бұрын
Mototech restricts the gas flow, KNS controls a waste gate plus diffusion and torturous gas path - different animals. Mototech only came out with detent system after KNS did. KNS comes with regulator screw tool and a few addition regulator screw sizes in case the user wants to configure to run on underpowered ammunition like steel case range quality. So you get a little value added there. Customer should purchase the product that best works for their application.
@RADIOACTIVEBUNY Жыл бұрын
@@HalcyonDefense I mean what application would suit one better than the other? Far as the gun and its use is concerned they do the same thing. Question is which is more reliable.
@HalcyonDefense Жыл бұрын
@@RADIOACTIVEBUNY They do not do the same thing - restricting the gas vs. controlled release yields very different results regarding bolt carrier acceleration. Then there is the tortuous path the gas must take, then there is the diffusor feature to minimize port pop, better surface coatings, gas control screw tool, etc..... The KNS design also does not break the plane of muzzle thread shoulder - so it will not interfere with thread on suppressors. If your goal is to suppress the SCAR™ and not damage your bolt carrier cam track - a controlled release is your better option. As far as reliability - the KNS design has zero internal moving parts and the detent system is ported from the AK gas piston, which has a proven history.

@@HalcyonDefense literally 3 days after I saw this my Mototech one came in and I’m having second thoughts. KNS sure seems to know what they’re doing.
@alexlevinson8629 Жыл бұрын
No offense, but mototech is not anywhere near this, and I’ve had both. Still have the kns. Eddie is a super nice dude, but I’ve had nothing but issues with my mototech stuff. My TiN piston corroded in like 800 rounds, my buffer delaminated after 1000 or so rounds, and my torx scar fastener kit rusted in less than 6 months. To top it off, you can get a kns to your mailbox this week, and mototech may take 4-6 months. It’s a great concept, and you’re right, it’s not new, but this is a company that is able to keep up with demand and ensure quality materials.
