Idk it’s less headache sometimes if you have a motor built but someone that knows what they are doing as well as the kinda abuse you’re gonna put the engine through. Unless you yourself are that good 😂 I know I’ve built 2 motors I still hate to this day and gave up on both of them. But I learnt from them and no have gotten way better and have a pretty nasty nitrous and boosted motors both sbf probably reason behind my first 2 struggles but I’m my around here I was the first little 8.2 deck sbf’s into the 4’s locally with them . Turbo car i street drive and no one in town can touch it! Never had a full dyno session with it but from 1/8 times it’s around 1800hp as it sets on the street now my fast n/t car I had that motor built and knock on wood haven’t had a problem yet with it in 2 seasons and I have it refreshed after each season and everything has always been great.
@jacbay42 жыл бұрын
Just a note. We have built many Chevy engines for circle track. That oiling problem you had is one that we fixed by drilling a hole with a #10 or #12 fitting in the front where an original small blocked off or possibly just a flat spot is there. This feeds the main oil gallery for the mains FROM THE FRONT. We blocked off the passage from the filter housing area that feeds the rear of the motor first. Then put a filter adapter plate with a#10 or #12 fitting out to a remote filter with an in/out to the new fitting in the front of the motor. This feeds all the mains evenly. We also put in .060 restrictors from the mains feeding the cam bearings. This keeps more oil to the mains feeding the rods because the cam bearings don't need that much oil. Hope this helps you out....

I'd like to see those nicks in the cylinder he said the rings would just slide right over. I just did a blown head gasket that sit for about 5 yrs and a couple cylinders were pitted and I was tempted to send it but I grabbed another block which was pitted a little also, with ring in the block barely could see flash light leaking under the ring, but it was vertical and long enough to pass under all the rings, so finally the 3rd block was good. I've took a pry bar to the flywheel on several engines that was stuck back in the day and they ran fine, no smoke, but I wonder how bad the cylinders really were. Might could have ran those pitted blocks with no ill effects but a vertical pitted area the length of the piston, I just felt like it would torch the piston and rings.

BAM! Clogged oil passage. Taking the point again, thank you very much. And without even seing the mains/crank. It's funny how much information you can get from a crappy audio. :D Throwing in a hot tip: smaller crank and longer steel rod. to bring the geometry closer to optimal. And again, even with the risk of losing the heart, I'd advise Jackie to be a bit less aggressive on the burnout. It doesn't matter on a turbo car, due to low compression ratio and beefier rolling assembly, but on N/A deal, everything is different and a LOT more fragile, simply due to the different way they make power.

Thanks for this content. I've always loved listening to professionals like Gerald, it all makes sense in the end. By the way, I think her burnouts are pretty sick and I love them. A few videos back when Chief was saying something about the burnouts on the limiter the first thing that came to mind was one of those top fuel throttle stops. Lol. Hope you guys catch a break on finding the needed parts also.

You can tell that being told to wait 24 weeks for rods really pisses Justin off. 😂

@@justinshearer3016 I’m sure everyone has had this idea maybe even you but. Doesn’t McDoogle have anything laying around? By the way the podcasts were amazing, and I still listen to them on my way to work in the morning. 😎
