SBC Waste Solutions Mack McNeilus Rear Loader Garbage Truck on Commercial in Downtown Chicago!

Before I get into the video, I’d like to extend a huge thank you to SBC Waste for making this possible and most importantly the driver, Tony, who let me tag along and made it a fantastic morning. I learned so much and had a blast coming along!
So featured here is one of the newer commercial packers in SBC’s fleet, complete with chrome trim and a Quik-Tip Rhino. It was so cool to see firsthand how drivers maneuver through the tight alleys and handle all sorts of stops, from rows of 2 yard dumpsters to 8 and 10 yarders, and push outs from garages to back ins, and even a compactor dumpster. There’s also so many interesting parts of Chicago like Chinatown, Lincoln Park, and my favorite, the stretch of Wacker Drive you see in the beginning of the video. I’m really glad I got the GoPro to work out, since getting driving shots wasn’t the easiest with how tight it is and it’s a view that you really don’t get to see too often. I apologize for the length of the video, but there were so many different clips I wanted to make sure I include so be sure to stick around until the end. With that being said, I’ll let you enjoy a longer-than-average video!

Finally someone got out of the suburbs and got some real video downtown. As everyone else has said your production is obviously a step above the rest of us. Seeing that 10 yarder get tossed around with the qwik tip was wild, those bins are too big to be handled safely IMO. Very nice of the kid doing the route to let you put up the camera and follow him around town, he looks younger than your average big city commercial driver. Hope he’s watching this, because you did a phenomenal job

Haha I’ve been hoping to do it for a while, so glad to hear you enjoyed it! The way Quik-Tips work you can handle any size container without worrying too much, and it’s faster than using the winch. The driver has been watching my channel for a while and offered to let me ride along for the day, and he actually had the idea to put the camera on the truck lol he’s a really young guy, just finished his second year of college and already killing it on route.

My uncle owned a refuse company with 2 rear loaders Both Leach. And Now he sold it to Waste Partners Inc. In Northern Minnesota. I may soon be a commercial route driver for a local company. Our family has been in the waste business for years.

Amazing work Grant! This is definitely one of the most well put together and best edited videos of a garbage truck on KZbin! It was super cool to see a downtown route and to see the driver navigate those super tight streets . The GoPro shots came out super well and I especially loved the shot at 14:10 with the train passing through! Outstanding job on this one!

Awesome work Grant! I absolutely love the music, transitions, and video angles in this video. One of my favorite things about this video is the beautiful skyline in some of these clips, and the different types of alley ways, streets, garages, and more! This has got to be the best garbage truck video I've ever seen on KZbin. Overall outstanding job on this video, I extremely enjoyed it!

I watched this a couple of days ago, but I knew my comment would be so long I had to wait until I had time to write it properly, lol. This is purely amazing!! It was awesome seeing the top of the cab view of all the maneuvering in and out of alleys, and then seeing all those containers serviced too. Rear load commercial is hands down one of my all time favorite things to watch, and this set the bar high! On top of the awesome camerawork, this truck looks killer! SBC’s paint scheme and decals just compliment each other so well, and I just can’t get enough of it! Well done Grant, this video is a 100/10 for sure, I know what kind of work goes into a video like this too, and I know it took a decent amount of time and effort too. Fav for sure!!
