Groot’s Diesel Autocar ACX Heil Odyssey Curotto Can Garbage Truck

At first glance this may look like all of the other Autocar Heil’s running out of the Elgin site, but look again and you will realize that this truck is actually diesel, and slightly longer as well. Originally from the Aurora hauling site, this unit was bought back when Aurora and Elgin were owned by Republic and they did a major upgrade to their fleet. Their residential fleet received mostly all LEU Odyssey Curotto’s (identical to the ones I’ve filmed from Melrose Park), along with one or two of these Autocar Heils. Not too long ago this was sent to Elgin, and it was downed for a while until they got it ready to go again and ever since it has been a spare, usually seeing yard waste and recycle routes. When I recorded this last week, it was pretty heavy but the driver kept a great pace and made it really fun to watch. I’m glad I finally got a full video of this truck, I hope you all enjoy!
